A First Vouchered Wild Record For The Flora Of Turkey: Aegilops Juvenalis (Thell.) Eig (Poaceae), Evren Cabi̇, Musa Doğan

Aegilops juvenalis (Thell.) Eig (Poaceae) is recorded and vouchered for the first time from Turkey. This first vouchered wild record is confined to Ceylanpınar province in C8 Şanlıurfa. The diagnostic morphological characters discriminating it from of Aegilops crassa Boiss. are pointed out. Notes are presented on its ecology and phenology. A distribution map of this species is also given.

Paris quadrifolia L. (Liliaceae) was collected from Northeast Anatolia (A9 Ardahan). It is reported for the first time from Turkey. Line drawings, diagnostic characters and a distribution map of Paris L. species of Turkey are presented.

Isatis takhtajanii Avestisian is reported as a new record from western Iran. It is close to I. tinctoria L.; a list of diagnostic differences is provided. A more complete description of I. takhtajanii and a distribution map are given. Isatis koeiei Rech.f. is reduced to a synonym of I. raphanifolia Boiss. Iranian records of I. spectabilis Davis and I. tinctoria subsp. tomentella (Boiss.) Davis are considered to be misidentifications of I. kotschyana Boiss. & Hohen.

A check-list of the genus Biarum Schott in the Flora of Turkey is presented, with 10 taxa, of which 2 are endemic to Turkey. A list of taxonomical changes that have occurred since the publication of the Flora of Turkey, Supplement II is given. In addition, Biarum syriacum (Spreng.) H.Riedl is recorded for the first time (C6 Gaziantep) from Turkey. In this paper an expanded morphological description of this species is provided. Moreover, an image of a type specimen, a photograph of a plant from the field, an illustration of a plant, and a distribution map are presented.

Verbascum samniticum Ten. (Scrophulariaceae) is recorded for the first time for the flora of Turkey with the specimen collected from A1(E) Kırklareli. A description of the species and descriptive illustrations are given based on the collected specimen. Its relationship with V. phlomoides L. is discussed.

This study includes taxonomical improvements of Achillea salicifolia Besser subsp. salicifolia and distributions in Turkey. Differences between A. salicifolia subsp. salicifolia and relatives are discussed, and synonyms are established. Furthermore, description, localities, distribution map, and key of allied species are given.
Saponaria Bargyliana Gombault (Caryophyllaceae): A New Record For Turkey And Analysis Of Its Morphological Characters With Related Species, Bi̇rol Mutlu

Previously, Saponaria bargyliana Gombault was known only from its type locality, the north of Syria in the Nosaïris mountains, which was published by Gombault in 1962. During a field trip in June 2002 to Erzin (Hatay) district, the species was collected for the second time from a new locality far from its locus classicus. Thus, this species was described as a new record for the flora of Turkey. The description of this species was expanded and its geographical distribution, habitat, flowering time and conservation status are discussed. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of Saponaria bargyliana and closely related species is discussed. …

Nineteen New Records From Sarıyar Dam Reservoir Phytoplankton For Turkish Freshwater Algae, Tahi̇r Atici

Nineteen new records of Turkish freshwater algae were determined in a study of the phytoplankton from Sarıyar dam reservoir. One of these species was from the Cyanobacteria, 14 were from the Chlorophyta, three were from the Euglenophyta and one was from the Heterokontophyta.
