New Records For The Freshwater Algae Of Turkey (Tigris Basin), Tülay Özer, İlkay Açikgöz Erkaya, Abel Udo Udoh, Aydin Akbulut, Kazim Yildiz, Bülent Şen

Samples were collected from different habitats (plankton, epipelon, epiphyton, and epilithon) at 20 stations situated on rivers and dam systems in the Tigris Basin between December 2004 and November 2005. Twenty-five new records were identified for the Turkish freshwater algae. They belong to the following divisions: 3 to Cyanobacteria, 1 to Rhodophya, 1 to Euglenozoa, 2 to Myzozoa, 1 to Ochrophyta, 9 to Chlorophyta, and 8 to Charophyta.

Five New Records Of The Genus Echinops (Asteraceae) From Turkey, Cem Vural, Handan Şapci

Echinops ritrodes Bunge, E. gaillardotii Boiss., E. adenocaulos Boiss., E. chardinii Boiss. & Buhse, and E. tenuisectus Rech.f. were recorded for the first time in Turkey. The taxa are described and illustrated. Geographical distributions of the taxa are also mapped, and IUCN threat categories of the populations are discussed.

Ascobolus stercorarius (Bull.) J.Schröt. (Ascobolaceae), Cheilymenia fimicola (De Not. & Bagl.) Dennis (Pyronemataceae), Plectania melastoma (Sowerby) Fuckel, and P. rhytidia (Berk.) Nannf. & Korf (Sarcosomataceae) are given as new records at the genus level for the macromycota of Turkey.

Macrofungi Of Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan) Autonomous Republic, Hami̇de Seyi̇dova, Elşad Hüseyi̇n

In this article, an attempt has been made to establish the species composition of the macrofungi of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. A total of 73 species of macromycetes were registered, 2 belonging to the division Ascomycota and 71 to the division Basidiomycota. The trophic structure for the fungal species is as follows: 22 lignicolous and 51 terricolous. Fifty-three species were added to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic mycobiota; 8 species of them were added to the mycobiota of Azerbaijan as new records.

Allium giganteum Regel (Liliaceae), Grammosciadium scabridum Boiss., and Ferulago angulata (Schlecht.) Boiss. subsp. carduchorum (Boiss. & Hausskn.) D.F.Chamb. (Apiaceae) are reported as new records for the Turkish flora. They have been identified using the collected specimens and Flora Iranica. The taxa's diagnostic characters, habitats, photos, and a distribution map of the new records in Turkey are given.

Allium saxatile M.Bieb. was collected from the north-western corner of European Turkey (Demirköy, Kırklareli) during the field survey of the "Yıldız Mountain Biosphere Project". It has been reported as a new record for the Turkish flora. A description based on the collected specimens, photographs of its habitat and flowering plants, map of the distribution area, and its karyotype are given.

Physarum didermoides (Pers.) Rostaf., Physarum gyrosum Rostaf., Didymium karstensii Nann.-Bremek., and Didymium trachysporum G.Lister, taxa grown by moist chamber culture method, are 4 new records from Turkey.
