These experiments, as originally planed, had for their object the determination of the best time to cut alfalfa in order to secure the most profitable annual yield, its chemical composition, digestibility and the results of feeding trials being considered. A comparison of the yield and feeding value of the first, second and third crops was also made a part of the investigation, and as with the different cuttings, the composition and digestibility formed a part of the work.
