"With liberty and justice for all" is a familiar phrase upon which the American system of jurisprudence is founded. Yet society has been slow to allow a large number of its citizens to enjoy the benefits of such equal justice. Exemplifying this inconsistency is the stigma that envelops illegitimacy.
