Established before classes began in the Fall of 2020, throughout the pandemic this web-based resource served as a central public location for questions and answers related to UGA School of Law's reopening, classes, visiting campus, quarantine and other health-based decisions and procedures. It was maintained and updated often by the Office of Student Affairs until it was unpublished after classes concluded in Spring 2021.

Originally launched in the Spring of 2020 as the University of Georgia School of Law pivoted to virtual instruction to close out the semester with the pandemic still ramping up, this password protected section of the My Georgia Law portal was used for internal law school faculty, staff and student communications to share resources related to COVID-19, mental wellbeing, and other general information. Faculty Scholarship

Application programming interfaces, or APIs, have been the topic of much recent discussion. Newsworthy events, including those involving Facebook’s API and Cambridge Analytica obtaining information about millions of Facebook users, have highlighted the technical capabilities of APIs for prominent websites and mobile applications. At the same time, media coverage of ways that APIs have been misused has sparked concern for potential privacy invasions and other issues of public policy. This paper seeks to educate consumers on how APIs work and how they are used within popular websites and mobile apps to gather, share, and utilize data.

From Innovation To Abuse: Does The Internet Still Need Section 230 Immunity?, Benjamin Volpe

Catholic University Law Review

In 1996, Congress passed the Communications Decency Act to allow the screening of offensive material from the internet, while preserving the continued development of the internet economy without burdensome regulation. However, for years, online intermediaries have successfully used the Act as a shield from liability when third parties use their online services to commit tortious or criminal acts. This Comment argues that a wholly-unregulated internet is no longer necessary to preserve the once-fledgling internet economy. After evaluating various approaches to intermediary liability, this Comment also argues that Congress should take a more comprehensive look at consumer protection online and establish …
