Quintanilla Earns Abf Affiliated Scholar Designation, James Owsley Boyd

Keep Up With the Latest News from the Law School (blog)

Professor Victor D. Quintanilla, Val Nolan Faculty Fellow, and co-director of the Law School’s Center for Law, Society & Culture, has been designated as an affiliated scholar with the American Bar Foundation, the organization announced this week. The affiliation, which formally began on September 1, will last for three years and allow Quintanilla to serve as a mentor to ABF doctoral fellows and take part in ABF initiatives.

Judge Phillip S. Figa lived a life that is rich in consequence, and our country is a better place because of his labors. President George W. Bush nominated Judge Figa to the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. The nomination "breezed" through the Senate, and confirmation occurred in October 2003. Attached to his reading glasses case, on his judicial bench, Judge Figa kept a list of five simple principles.
