Voluntary refusal is directly interrelated with the stages of the commission of the crime, since the correct determination of stage of the refusal can possibly serve as the basis for exemption from criminal liability or conviction. In this regard, the author analyzed the possibility of a voluntary refusal at the stage of a completed and/or inchoated criminal attempt, which is one of the controversial issues of criminal law.
