An Introduction To The Mission And Methodology Of Academic Support, Emmeline Paulette Reeves

Academic Support Programs (ASPs) "are an extremely hot issue" in legal education. Earlier this semester, the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) announced that it would fund annual academic support conferences for the next six years, and last fall, the LSAC published an updated handbook on ASPs. The Association of American Law Schools established a permanent section on academic support in 1998. A recent survey of 151 ABA-accredited law schools revealed that 13 7, or 90.7% of the schools surveyed, have an academic support program in one form or another. Daniel L. Greenberg oversees the pro bono program at Schulte Roth & Zable LLP. From 1987 to 1995 he directed clinical legal programs at Harvard Law School, and from 1995 to 2004 he was executive director of New York City's Legal Aid Society. He has been named an honorary fellow of Penn Law School.

André L. Dennis practices in Philadelphia in the areas of civil rights and product liability, among others.. He represented Ramona Africa in her lawsuit against the city of Philadelphia after the 1985 MOVE bombing. In 1997 he was named an honorary fellow of Penn Law School.

The U Of O'S Greatest Grad, Maurice James Holland
Maurice James Holland (1984-1985 Acting; 1986 Acting)
After leaving the Indiana University School of Law in 1986, Maury Holland became the dean at the University of Oregon School of Law. He stepped down as Oregon’s dean in 1992 and continued teaching until his retirement in 2008. Holland died in 2020.
On March 13, 2001, Holland delivered the following lecture to the Round Table of Oregon. The lecture profiles University of Oregon Law Alumni Yosuke Matsuoka, who received his law degree in 1910 and went on to serve as a Japanese diplomat and the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

E. Clinton Bamberger Jr. was the first director of legal services in the federal Office of Economic Opportunity, and later of Community Legal Services. He practiced law in Baltimore, where he represented the petitioner in the landmark case of Brady v. Maryland. In 1981 he was made an honorary fellow of Penn Law School. He died in 2013.

Bruce J. Terris was an assistant in the US Solicitor General's office from 1958 to 1965, where he argued sixteen cases before the Supreme Court. In 1970 he went into private practice. He was counsel in many landmark environmental law cases and was active in numerous District of Columbia-area nonprofits. In 1977 he was named a Penn Law honorary fellow. He died in 2017.
