Detection And Estimation Of Magnetization Induced Resonances In Unilateral Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (Nmr) Sensors, Neelam G. Prabhu Gaunkar, I. Bulu, Y. Q. Song, Mani Mina, David C. Jiles

Electrical and Computer Engineering Publications

In this work a systematic identification of factors contributing to signal ringing in unilateral nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) sensors is conducted. Resonant peaks that originate due to multiple factors such as NMR, electrical, magneto-acoustic, core material response, eddy currents and other factors were observed. The peaks caused by the measurement system or electrical resonances and induced magnet vibrations are further analyzed. They appear in every measurement and are considered as interference to signals received from the magnetic core. Forming a distinction between different peaks is essential in identifying the primary contribution to the captured resonant signal. The measurements for the ...

Incorporation Of Future Building Operating Conditions Into The Modeling Of Building–Microclimate Interaction: A Feasibility Approach, Kelly Kalvelage, Ulrike Passe, Caroline Krejci, Michael C. Dorneich Jan 2015

Incorporation Of Future Building Operating Conditions Into The Modeling Of Building–Microclimate Interaction: A Feasibility Approach, Kelly Kalvelage, Ulrike Passe, Caroline Krejci, Michael C. Dorneich

Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering Conference Proceedings and Posters

This paper presents a novel modeling methodology that integrates the near building environmental conditions (or microclimate), whole-building design, and occupant behavior. Accurate predictions of the future building operating conditions lead to designs that serve the building’s purpose – to support occupants’ tasks. This study bridges the gap between human factors and architecture to include physical, cognitive, and organizational systems into building information modeling using future typical meteorological year climate data, canyon air temperature microclimate model, and a whole-building energy simulation to investigate the impact of future microclimate conditions on a “typical” single-occupant office. Additionally, to capture the effects of building ...

Ventilation Rates And Airflow Pathways In Patient Rooms: A Case Study Of Bioaerosol Containment And Removal, Ehsan S. Mousavi, Kevin R. Grosskopf Jan 2015

Ventilation Rates And Airflow Pathways In Patient Rooms: A Case Study Of Bioaerosol Containment And Removal, Ehsan S. Mousavi, Kevin R. Grosskopf

Architectural Engineering -- Faculty Publications

Most studies on the transmission of infectious airborne disease have focused on patient room air changes per hour (ACH) and how ACH provides pathogen dilution and removal. The logical but mostly unproven premise is that greater air change rates reduce the concentration of infectious particles and thus, the probability of airborne disease transmission. Recently, a growing body of research suggests pathways between pathogenic source (patient) and control (exhaust) may be the dominant environmental factor. While increases in airborne disease transmission have been associated with ventilation rates below 2 ACH, comparatively less data are available to quantify the benefits of higher ...

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Transmission Project: Final Environmental Impact Statement: Appendix L, New England Division, United States Army Corps Of Engineers, United States Department Of Energy

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

This draft EIS Supplement describes the environmental impacts of updated transmission plans of the Department of Energy (DOE) for the proposed Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project. Energy produced by the project is to be integrated into the New England electric system if the project is constructed.

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

The report assessing cultural resources for the Dickey/Lincoln School Transmission Project consists of five narrative chapters, a topical bibliography, and five appendices. The scope of work, together with the USDI guidelines for cultural resource survey (included in Appendix E), comprise an attitude and approach toward prehistory which is in accord with the current state of the art, not simply in terms of cultural resource management but also in terms of contemporary standards generally recognized by practitioners of anthropological archaeology.

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

The U.S. Departments of the Interior and Energy have conducted system planning, location, and environmental studies for the trans-mission facilities required for the Dickey-Lincoln School Hydroelectric project. These studies of many alternate routes have resulted in iden-tification of a proposed transmission line route and an environmental impact statement, as required by the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969. This report, one of several prepared under contract to the DOE by various consultants, is published as an appendix to that statement. Appendix F, Geotechnical Impact Study (two volumes, the second being a map volume), documents a study performed by E ...

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project Transmission Studies Environmental Impact Statement: Appendix H: Socio-Economic Impact Study, Edward C. Jordan Co., Inc., United States Department Of Energy

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

The principal objective of this study is to identify the major types and intensity of social and economic impacts anticipated with the proposed pre-construction, construction, operation and maintenance of the Dickey-Lincoln transmission line. In order to address the types of anticipated impacts it was necessary to first develop a socio-economic profile of the affected area.

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

Objective of this study will be to assess Dickey-Lincoln in terms of its attainment of project objectives. How will this be done? The Water Resources Council in "Water and Related Land Resources -Establishment of Principles and Standards for Planning"' states that: The overall purpose of water and land resource planning is to promote the quality of life, by reflecting society's preferences for attainment of the objectives...
