Size Effects In Human Visual Inspection For Micro/Meso Scale Parts, Sri Harsha Kavuri
Size Effects In Human Visual Inspection For Micro/Meso Scale Parts, Sri Harsha Kavuri
Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
Visual inspection has been a major method of quality control in conventional manufacturing processes for the last fifty years. Utilizing trained human inspectors to perform this visual inspection has been the most effective means of maintaining quality control. Extensive research has been performed to understand the factors that influence the human inspection process.
In the recent years, there has been a significant emphasis on manufacturing at the smaller end of the size-spectrum such as Micro and Meso scale manufacturing. Quality control at becomes a challenging task due to the extremely small sizes. Several automated visual inspection techniques have been proposed …
The Evaluation Of Software Quality, Dhananjay Gade
The Evaluation Of Software Quality, Dhananjay Gade
Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
Software Quality comprises all characteristics and significant features of a product or an activity which relate to the satisfaction of given requirements. The totality of characteristics of a software product depends upon its ability to satisfy given needs: for example (a) the degree to which software possesses a desired attribute or combination of attributes. (b) The degree to which a customer or user perceives that software meets their expectations, (c) the characteristics of software that determine the degree to which the software in use will meet the customer expectation. This study has three objectives. The first objective is to identify …
Investigation Of Rfid Readability For License Plates In Static And Motion Testing, Srinivasan Venkatesan
Investigation Of Rfid Readability For License Plates In Static And Motion Testing, Srinivasan Venkatesan
Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
The most important function of RFID in vehicle tracking is to store information concerning tagged elements in order to improve the overall performance of movable asset management. There is a need to discover an RFID system for the tracking of vehicles, as existing vehicle tracking systems are undependable. Experiments were performed with SIRIT, SAVI, and RF code RFID systems under differing conditions, attaching the tag to the license plate instead of the windshield. Different spacers were also tested to reduce the effect of metal surfaces on RFID signals.
Preliminary experiments were performed before stationary and motion testing in order to …
