A Transdisicplinary, Survivor-Centered Approach For Creating A System Dynamics Model Of Closed-Buyer Sex Trafficking Networks, Kemonte Yow
All Theses
One of the largest drivers of sex trafficking operations is the demand for commercial sex. To date, research from a quantitative side typically focuses on understanding how to best identify and remove victims from their trafficking situation and then support their healing and recovery. This may be because this is where data exists (in limited forms) to support quantitative modeling. This thesis broadens that scope to understand how demand for commercial sex impacts trafficking operations. In particular, this research implemented a transdisciplinary, survivor-centered approach to build a system dynamics model of a closed-buyer sex trafficking network, which is a network …
Pull Production System Training Guide, Adem Bilgutay
Pull Production System Training Guide, Adem Bilgutay
Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
This book is a series of lessons designed to train operators and managers in pull manufacturing. It begins with a description of the different forms of waste that a system can help to identify and eliminate. The second section details the kanban as a system for controlling flow and as a powerful tool for identifying problems. It will describe the many different variations of kanban that exist to control flow in different production environments and the calculations that allow them to be used effectively. The final section will detail the activities that an operator should engage in when there is …
A Decision Support System For Capacity Management, Anton Slobodnik
A Decision Support System For Capacity Management, Anton Slobodnik
Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Every manufacturer faces the challenge of managing production capacity. How effectively a company meets required capacity as compared to competitors will be a determinant of profitability and success.
This paper details the creation of a best of breed software that can act as a decision support system and help planners reschedule work, add shifts and make sure that the master production schedule is feasible before putting it into an MRP system.
As a part of my senior project I’ve created a Rough-Cut Capacity Tool that takes lead time into account and performs basic what if analysis on level loading a …
