Many people are interested in the industrial-arts program in Hawaii, especially since it has become the fiftieth state. Because of the interest, and since the background of the writer included eighteen years of residence in Hawaii and five years of professional preparation in the field of industrial arts it was decided that a status study would be made to see what was going on in the industrial-arts program in Hawaii.
