Enterprise Engineering And Intellectual Technologies For Lifecycle Management Of Industrial Production, Nodirbek Rustambekovich Yusupbekov, Valery Borisovich Tarasov, Shukhrat Manapovich Gulyamov, Fahritdin Raupovich Abdurasulov

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

The fundamental scientific problem of the development of the mathematical foundations of engineering for industrial enterprises and the development of mathematical methods of production management, as well as the creation of intelligent systems for coordinated management of the life cycles of products and production in the network of enterprises are discussed. The issues in demand in the development of a vast interdisciplinary field of enterprise engineering and the development of modern network enterprises and intelligent production using mathematical modeling methods are discussed.

Design Of A Distributed Real-Time E-Health Cyber Ecosystem With Collective Actions: Diagnosis, Dynamic Queueing, And Decision Making, Yanlin Zhou May 2018

Design Of A Distributed Real-Time E-Health Cyber Ecosystem With Collective Actions: Diagnosis, Dynamic Queueing, And Decision Making, Yanlin Zhou

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research

In this thesis, we develop a framework for E-health Cyber Ecosystems, and look into different involved actors. The three interested parties in the ecosystem including patients, doctors, and healthcare providers are discussed in 3 different phases. In Phase 1, machine-learning based modeling and simulation analysis is performed to remotely predict a patient's risk level of having heart diseases in real time. In Phase 2, an online dynamic queueing model is devised to pair doctors with patients having high risk levels (diagnosed in Phase 1) to confirm the risk, and provide help. In Phase 3, a decision making paradigm is proposed …

Selecting Electricity Generation Sources In Remote Locations, Kelly E. Kwan Mar 2007

Selecting Electricity Generation Sources In Remote Locations, Kelly E. Kwan

Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this research was to investigate the impact of using a decision analysis technique for the selection of an electrical generation system for remote locations. Specifically, this thesis sought to answer five research questions addressing the types of energy sources used in remote locations, the decision-making processes used to identify these sources, the types of constraints incorporated in such a process, other valued factors, and their level of importance in relation to each other. The research questions were answered through a comprehensive literature review and the 10-Step Value-Focused Thinking Process on a specific case study in the National …

Order And Disorder, Entropy In Math, Science, Nature And The Arts, Sol Neeman Ph.D., Arie Maharshak Jul 2006

Order And Disorder, Entropy In Math, Science, Nature And The Arts, Sol Neeman Ph.D., Arie Maharshak

Engineering Studies Faculty Publications and Creative Works

Often, science and engineering students have difficult time in viewing certain concepts in their holistic form. An example for such a concept is the concept of Entropy. Although it originated from the field of thermodynamics, the relation between order and disorder is a profound one and manifests itself in various fields, sometimes unrelated, such as math and science, nature and the arts. In the discipline of physics, the amount of disorder in a system has been quantified by the concept of Entropy. In the area of information theory it provides a quantitative measure of the amount of compression that may …

A Value Focused Thinking Model For The Development And Selection Of Electrical Energy Source Alternatives At Military Installations, Gregory T. Schanding Mar 2004

A Value Focused Thinking Model For The Development And Selection Of Electrical Energy Source Alternatives At Military Installations, Gregory T. Schanding

Theses and Dissertations

Electrical power on military installations is vital for mission accomplishment. Most installations obtain electrical power from a local commercial utility. Although commercial power service has a very low interruption rate, the threat of a sustained power outage resulting from a terrorist act or a natural disaster is of concern. The military should posture itself to prevent such power outages and prepare to mitigate the adverse effects associated with the loss of power. This thesis presents a Value Focused Thinking approach to the development of a decision analysis model to assist a decision maker at a military installation in the generation …

A Superior Tool For Airline Operations, Michael C. Dorneich, Stephen D. Whitlow, Christopher A. Miller, John A. Allen Jan 2004

A Superior Tool For Airline Operations, Michael C. Dorneich, Stephen D. Whitlow, Christopher A. Miller, John A. Allen

Michael C. Dorneich

The Diversion Off-Gate Management Assistant (DOGMA) is a decision support tool that mitigates problems in making diversion decisions in the airline industry. DOGMA helps inexperienced dispatchers to provide superior and consistent diversion decisions that translate into minimizing the impact of time-critical diversion decisions and increasing the airline's ability to recover from severe schedule disruptions. The tool integrates multiple information sources to improve dispatchers' situation awareness of the current state of flight, aircraft, maintenance, crew, and passenger schedules.
