The structure, morphology and mechanical properties of polypropylene-nanoclay composites with 1 to 15 wt.% nanoclay additives were investigated. Mixture of intercalated and exfoliated morphology was observed in nanocomposites. At higher weight percentage reinforcement (10–15 wt.%), up to 67 % improvement in tensile modulus is observed. At higher weight percentage, exclusion of clay additives at the boundary of spherulites was observed. This study illustrates that along with the thermodynamic driving force, spherulite formation also drives the ultimate morphology

The morphology development in polypropylene − nanoclay composites with different weight percentages of nanoclay additives was studied using a combination of wide-angle X-ray diffraction, small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), polarized optical microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. SAXS studies showed an increase in long period with increase in additive weight percentage. Thermal analysis showed that even if the clay platelets are not completely exfoliated they can act as effective nucleating agents. Studies indicated that the ultimate morphology formation is influenced by both the thermodynamics of mixing and crystallization and spherulite formation. During spherulite growth, unenclosed clay platelets were excluded at the spherulite …

The innovation in the 21st century goes significantly beyond the high-tech picture driven by small or large industry clusters in a specific region-typically Silicon Valley and M4Corridor. The future of innovation will lie within knowledge management and seamless technological applications. These will be supported by planned funding strategies, possibly with clients as drivers of the innovation. This view seems to be supported by the UK government “Technology and Innovation Futures” (2011); the USA government (2011), study into which leading scholars concede that the future innovation and technological applications for economic growth will include products and processes, improvements in areas such …

Recent nanotechnological revolution mandates astonishing imagination about future nanoworld. Nature has ability to create nanobiomolecules which can function in extraordinary way which can be used to produce nano hybrid systems. The opportunity to use such nanobiomolecules in combination of nanomechanical systems for development of novel nano hybrid systems for their various applications needs to explore in further nanotechnological development. F1 ATPase is a subunit of ATP synthase, which is one of the biomolecular structure works on the plasma membrane of the living cell. The reversible function of F1 ATPase gives a counterclockwise rotation of γ shaft by hydrolyzing ATP and …
