The Electrode Process Of Some Organic Dyes Studied By Spectroelec Tro Chemical Technique In Situ, Yinxuan Tang, Hangsheng Yang, Baoen Shen

Journal of Electrochemistry

Spectroelectrochemistry especially with in situ measurement in a cell provides a very useful mthodology for measuring the parameters of electrode process. In this paper, we report the determination of formal potentials, the number of electron transfer, the diffusion coefficient, the heterogeneous electron transfer rate constant and the transfer coefficient of some organic dyes (Methyelene blue, Neutral red, Indigo carmine) using spectroelectro chemical technique in situ.

Surface Modifications Of Carbon Materials Used As Anode Of Lithium Ion Battery Ⅲ. Improvement Of Artificially Imposed Solid Electrolyte Film On Cell Performance, Shuhua Ma, Xiabin Jing, Fosong Wang Aug 1997

Surface Modifications Of Carbon Materials Used As Anode Of Lithium Ion Battery Ⅲ. Improvement Of Artificially Imposed Solid Electrolyte Film On Cell Performance, Shuhua Ma, Xiabin Jing, Fosong Wang

Journal of Electrochemistry

The improving effect of solid electrolyte film artificially imposed on carbon electrode was investigated. The result showed that both the charge/discharge capacity and first charge/discharge efficiency, to a certain extent, were enhanced, and the result also suggested the effectiveness of the substitution of the artificially imposed solid electrolyte film for the inherent passivating film which was formed on the surface of the carbon electrode while inserted in the electrolyte during charging or discharging. The Scanning Electron Microscope result displayed the compact and well defined morphology of the artificially imposed crystalline film.

Effects Of Tunneling Electrons And Local Field On Nanometer Region Solid / Liquid Interfacial Reactions ——Potential Controlled Stm Induced Nanoscale Modification Of H Terminated Si(111) Surfaces, Zhaoxiong Cai Xiongwei Xie, Caihui Shi, Bingwei Mao, Zhaowu Tian May 1997

Effects Of Tunneling Electrons And Local Field On Nanometer Region Solid / Liquid Interfacial Reactions ——Potential Controlled Stm Induced Nanoscale Modification Of H Terminated Si(111) Surfaces, Zhaoxiong Cai Xiongwei Xie, Caihui Shi, Bingwei Mao, Zhaowu Tian

Journal of Electrochemistry

H terminated n Si(111) surface was found to be etched in 0.5% HF solution in nanometer scale while scanning the STM tip when the substrate potential was somehow lower than the open circuit potential at tunneling condition of V b=+1.0 V (tip positive), I t=1 nA. Much more stable Si surface was achievable at potentials much more negative than the open circuit potential (such as 500 mV negative to OCP) under the same tunneling condition. Furthermore, the etching rete at less negative potential was found to be somehow related to the tunneling current. These results indicate that the STM induced …

Surface Modification Of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Anode, Baizeng Fang, Xinyu Liu, Xindong Wang, Shuzhen Duan May 1997

Surface Modification Of Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Anode, Baizeng Fang, Xinyu Liu, Xindong Wang, Shuzhen Duan

Journal of Electrochemistry

In this study, the anode material of molten carbonate fuel cell was modified by the deposition of niobium on nickel surface. The results of polarization experiments reveal that the corrosion resistant properties as well as electrocatalytic activity have been improved greatly.

Surface Modifications Of Carbon Materials Used As Anode Of Lithium Ion Batteryⅱ.The Carbon Material With Core Shell Structure And Its Positive Effect On Cell Performance Of Graphite Anode, Shuhua Ma, Hanju Guo, Ji Li, Hongze Liang, Xiabin Jing, Fosong Wang Feb 1997

Surface Modifications Of Carbon Materials Used As Anode Of Lithium Ion Batteryⅱ.The Carbon Material With Core Shell Structure And Its Positive Effect On Cell Performance Of Graphite Anode, Shuhua Ma, Hanju Guo, Ji Li, Hongze Liang, Xiabin Jing, Fosong Wang

Journal of Electrochemistry

The carbon powders and film electrode with core shell structure were prepared by carbonization in gas state with using refined coal as shell material and Artificial Graphite and Mesocarbon Microbeads (2 800 ℃) graphite as core material. Galvanostatic charge/discharge measurement showed that both steady charge/discharge capacity and first charge/discharge efficiency were improved. Cyclic voltammetry indicated that the peak at about 0.7 V vs. Li +/Li characteristic of decomposition of electrolyte got weakened, and a more compact film was formed. X ray diffraction measurement suggested the existence of amorphous carbon shell on the carbon powders and carbon film.

Study On The Hydrophilicity Of Nafion Membrane Surface, Yanbing Zu, Chuansin Cha Feb 1997

Study On The Hydrophilicity Of Nafion Membrane Surface, Yanbing Zu, Chuansin Cha

Journal of Electrochemistry

Due to its high chemical stability and ion selective permeability, Nafion membrane has been applied in many electrochemical systems. The surface hydrophilicity is one of the main factors affecting its performance. In this paper, the bound bubble method is introduced as a suitable way to measure the contact angles between Nafion membrane and various aqueous solutions. During the measurement, Nafion membrane is saturated with given electrolyt solution. The hysteresis of the contact angles observed in the measurement is attributed to the co existance of hydrophobic and hydrophilic domains at the membrane surface. The effect of the solution surface tension on …
