"It is the purpose of this thesis to investigate the effects of a variable input heat flux impinging equally on both sides, on the temperature distribution within an infinite plate. An infinite plate may be defined as one in which the dimensions are infinite in two directions and finite in thickness. For practical purposes such a plate could be thought of as one in which the thickness was small enough, compared to the other two dimensions, so that a temperature gradient exists only normal to the surfaces of the plate.
