Experimentally Investigate The Heat Transfer Performance Of Annular Fins, Hazim A.M. Al-Jewaree, Osama A.M. Alhami

Innovative Research Publications IRP India

Performance of annular fins of different shapes subject to locally variable heat transfer coefficient is investigated experimentally in this paper. The performance of the fin expressed in terms of fin efficiency, effectiveness and thermal resistance as a function of the ambient temperature and fin geometry parameters has been presented in the literature in the form of curves known as the fin-efficiency curves for different types of fins without use the diamond shape, but in the present work, we study this shape with others. However, for cases in which the heat transfer from the fin is dominated by natural convection, the …

The New Propeller Design 3 Blades Type On 18o Skew Angle And Testing Cavitation Of Tailing Thai Boat, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Jaruphant Noosomton, Jarruwat Charoensuk Apr 2015

The New Propeller Design 3 Blades Type On 18o Skew Angle And Testing Cavitation Of Tailing Thai Boat, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Jaruphant Noosomton, Jarruwat Charoensuk

This paper presents to case study the method design of 3-blade type ship propeller. cavitation flow is investigated around ship propellers experimentally. Testing of different types new model propellers and local type propellers are performed in this study. A 3-blades, skew angle 18 degree, developed area 55 and comparison which local type propeller commonly used by Thai fishermen. A practical design method was achieved by combining a vortex lattice lifting method and lifting surface method. The optimum circulation distribution yielding the maximum lift-to-torque ratio was computed for given thrust and chord lengths along the radius of the propeller by dividing …

Design Of Innovative Engine Valve, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, S. M. Muzakkir, M. G. Patil, Harish Hirani Feb 2015

Design Of Innovative Engine Valve, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, S. M. Muzakkir, M. G. Patil, Harish Hirani

Innovative Research Publications IRP India

This is part two of the paper on conceptual design of an engine valve. The previous paper describes the background and the need of an engine valve for an internal combustion engine. The present state of the engine valve technology and the innovations incorporated in its design has been described. This paper presents the conceptualization of an innovative valve train aiming at lesser number of components, reduction in friction and wear, proper sealing, and trimming down pumping losses. Various geometric designs of valve trains have been detailed and compared. Finally a convolution based poppet valve mechanism, which is free from …

Synthesis And Characterization Of Nano-Copper-Powder Based Magnetorheological Fluids For Brake, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Chiranjit Sarkar, Harish Hirani Jan 2015

Synthesis And Characterization Of Nano-Copper-Powder Based Magnetorheological Fluids For Brake, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Chiranjit Sarkar, Harish Hirani

Innovative Research Publications IRP India

Magnetorheological (MR) fluids can be used as brake friction materials [1, 2]. During braking, kinetic energy of machines gets converted into heat and shear thinning of MR fluid due to increase in temperature occurs which in turn reduces the braking effect. To lessen the effect of heat generation on MR fluids due to heat, synthesis of magnetorheological fluid using nano-copper-powder has been proposed. To explore the feasibility of incorporating copper powder, four carbonyl iron (CI) powder based MR fluids (without any copper powder, with 0.25% weight, 0.5% weight and 0.75% weight copper powder) have been synthesized. Yield stress of all …

Determination Of Some Physical Properties Of Castor (Ricirus Communis) Oil, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Odesanya Kazeem, Olasheu Taiwo, Adebiyi Kazeem, Durowoju Mondiu Nov 2014

Determination Of Some Physical Properties Of Castor (Ricirus Communis) Oil, Innovative Research Publications Irp India, Odesanya Kazeem, Olasheu Taiwo, Adebiyi Kazeem, Durowoju Mondiu

Innovative Research Publications IRP India

The energy crisis and shortage of fuel emanating from total dependence on mineral oil with resultant socioeconomic problems demand the need to explore the use of renewable energy as alternative. This study evaluates the physical properties of the castor (Ricirus communis) oil. A quantity of 35 kg dried base decorticated seeds of castor was locally obtained, volume of 5 litres of castor oil was extracted from the seeds using existing hydraulic press machine, while its physical properties was determined through laboratory analytical procedure of American Society for Testing and Materials analytical standard 960-52 (ASTM,D960-52). The properties determined were: viscosity, density, …
