Critical Factors Affecting Success Of A Blast Furnace Project, Srinivasa Rao Potti Mr, Shiva H.C Prasad Dr., Gopalkrishan Barkur Dr. Apr 2014

Critical Factors Affecting Success Of A Blast Furnace Project, Srinivasa Rao Potti Mr, Shiva H.C Prasad Dr., Gopalkrishan Barkur Dr.

SHIVA H.C PRASAD Mr.

The project management is a subsection of operational management that links to an economic activity. This emphasizes the process of making decisions and operationalising the strategies and tactics to reach the goal through owners, contractors, engineers and consultants within the planned constraints via meeting the schedule. Critical success factors are the bottom line for the successful completion while countering the factors of failure. This research study mainly focuses on relining of blast furnace as a project and so as to identify the critical success factors that influence the project success in a private steel manufacturing company in India.

Experimental Investigation Of Worm Gears Performance, Part I: Contact Pattern And Worm Wheel Teeth, Alireza Nezamabadi, Ehsan Soury, Arash Houshmand Mar 2014

Experimental Investigation Of Worm Gears Performance, Part I: Contact Pattern And Worm Wheel Teeth, Alireza Nezamabadi, Ehsan Soury, Arash Houshmand

Arash Houshmand

This paper is focused on the performance of worm gears influenced by the position of the contact pattern. By decreasing in size of the contact pattern area the lubricant film thickness between worm and worm wheel teeth will be decreased and lubricant temperature as a criterion for worm gears performance will be increased. In this experiment by designed tests, the effect of Contact Pattern Position of the Worm Wheel Teeth on the Lubricant Temperature behavior had been investigated. By considering the performed studies on statistical results of the amount of percentage of contact area in every tooth of under experiment …

Optimization Of Contact Pattern Position On The Worm Wheel Teeth By Axial Shift In Worm Wheel Axis, Ehsan Soury, Arash Houshmand, Alireza Nezamabadi Mar 2014

Optimization Of Contact Pattern Position On The Worm Wheel Teeth By Axial Shift In Worm Wheel Axis, Ehsan Soury, Arash Houshmand, Alireza Nezamabadi

Arash Houshmand

In industrial applications Lubricant temperature decrease is a desired aim in the case of lubricant and gears performance. In this paper the procedure of optimization of worm gears performance by considering the proper contact pattern position had been performed. In accordance with required axial shift in worm wheel axis the contact pattern optimized and as a result the lubricant temperature decreased. This procedure leads to increase gears efficiency and their effective life.

A Case Study Of Heat Treatment On Aisi 1020 Steel, Sayed Shafayat Hossain, Md. Maksudul Islam, Md. Sajibul Alam Bhuyan

Md. Maksudul Islam

Proper heat treatment of steels is one of the most important factors in determining how they will perform in service. Engineering materials, mostly steel, are heat treated under controlled sequence of heating and cooling to alter their physical and mechanical properties to meet desired engineering applications. In this study we have chosen AISI 1020 steel as for our research work and we have tried to find out the mechanical properties (hardness) and micro structural properties (martensite formation, carbon self-locking region) by means of appropriate heat treatment process (annealing, normalizing & hardening). Here the steel specimens were heat treated in a …
