Fuel Cells Reactor For Chemicals And Electric Energy Cogeneration, Zhi-Lin Heng, Xiao-Zi Yuan, Yi-Mei Yin, Zi-Feng Ma

Journal of Electrochemistry

As an energy conversion device, fuel cells can efficiently convert chemical energy into electrical energy. With the developing of technology, it is used as a reactor to conduct the synthesis of high value-added chemicals while generating electrical energy. Having benefits such as mild reaction conditions, controllability of the reaction process, high selectivity of the product, as well as high efficiency of energy utilization, it is widely used in many fields such as preparation of high value-added industrial products, gas separation, water treatment, etc. This paper introduces the current trends and statuses of fuel cell reactors in the cogeneration of chemicals …

Fabrication Of Superhydrophilic Aluminum Oxide Through Single-Step Anodic Oxidation, Qin Zhang, Qi-Ming Yin, Jia-Ming Ye, Yuan-Rong Zhu

Journal of Electrochemistry

Hydrophilic aluminum oxide is popularly used for heat exchanger of air-condition.Herein,we developed a simple method to prepare superhydrophilic aluminum oxide on the surface of aluminum through single-step electrochemical oxidization. The morphologies and water contact angles on surfaces of alumina fabricated under different electrochemical conditions were investgated.Superhydrophilic surfaces fabricated by this method have good stability and high mechanical strength with water contact angle almost 0°.Coated with low surface energy materials, superhydrophilc alumina will be converted to superhydrophobic.

Electrochemical Oxidation Of Organic Additives In Tin Plating Electrolytes, Yin-Mei Cheng, Lan-Kun Cai, Qiang Song Nov 2005

Electrochemical Oxidation Of Organic Additives In Tin Plating Electrolytes, Yin-Mei Cheng, Lan-Kun Cai, Qiang Song

Journal of Electrochemistry

Cyclic voltammetry(CV) was used to characterize the voltammetric behaviours of organic additives,e.g.PSA(phenolsulfonic acid)、EN(ethoxylatedα-naphthol) and ENSA(ethoxylatedα-naphthol sulfonic acid),on the anode surface. In PSA solutions,an anodic peak was obtained and the peak potential was about 1.2V.In EN and ENSA solutions, two anodic peaks were obtained and the peak potentials were about(0.95V) and 1.3V.The products of galvanostatic electrolysis were separated by HPLC(high performance liquid chromatography) and analyzed by EI/MS(electron ionizing mass spectrometry). The mechnism of the electrochemical oxidation was also disussed.

Investigation Of Sodium Hypophosphite Anodic Oxidizing Behavior In The Process Of Acid Electroless Nickel Deposition, Meiyuan Wang, Yafei Kuang, Yan Xu

Journal of Electrochemistry

The anodic oxidizing behavior of sodium hypophosphite in the process of electroless nickle deposition(pH=5.5) was investigated with the linear potential sweep method and alternating current impedance. The results indicated that, the oxidation of NaH 2PO 2 was a complicated electrochemical process and affected by the concentration of NaH 2PO 2, the temperature of the bath, the sweep rate and the existence of nickel ion. The NaH 2PO 2 electrooxidation reaction was very likely preceded by heterogeneous interface transformation process, which might be the control step of the whole anodic process.
