To obtain magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) with improved mechanical properties and exhibiting an enhanced magnetorheological (MR) effect, bio-inspired dopamine modification has been used to improve the functionality at the surface of carbonyl iron (CI) particles. Various techniques including x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to confirm that a polydopamine (PDA) layer of about 27.5 nm had been successfully deposited on the surface of the carbonyl iron particles prior to their inclusion in the MRE composites. The magnetic properties of PDA modified CI particles were shown to be almost the same as those …

A Facile Strategy For Two-Step Fabrication Of Gold Nanoelectrode For In Vivo Dopamine Detection, Li-Hao Guan, Chao Wang, Wang Zhang, Yu-Lu Cai, Kai Li, Yu-Qing Lin

Journal of Electrochemistry

In vivo monitoring neurochemicals with microelectrode is invasive and the damage to brain tissue may inevitably cause disturbance signals physiologically to the measurement. It is of great importance to reduce the electrode size and to decrease the damage. This study demonstrates a novel nanoelectrode preparation methodology for in vivo monitoring dopamine (DA) fluctuation in the living brain of rats with high dependability. The fabrication process of the gold nanoelectrode involving a few minutes consists of only two steps: 1) growing gold nanoseeds on surface of tip of glassy capillary by ion sputtering; 2) wet depositing a continuous conductive gold film …

Synthesis Of Keggin Polyoxometalates Modified Carbon Paste Electrode As A Sensor For Dopamine Detection, Peng-Fei Dong, Na Li, Hai-Yan Zhao, Min Cui, Cong Zhang, Ju-Jie Ren, Xue-Ping Ji Oct 2018

Synthesis Of Keggin Polyoxometalates Modified Carbon Paste Electrode As A Sensor For Dopamine Detection, Peng-Fei Dong, Na Li, Hai-Yan Zhao, Min Cui, Cong Zhang, Ju-Jie Ren, Xue-Ping Ji

Journal of Electrochemistry

Polyoxometalates, a class of anionic clusters with structure diversity and size variability, make them very attractive in many fields such as electrochemistry, catalysis and medicine. The Co(C15N6H12)2[PW12O38]·5H2O(Co[PW12O38]) modified carbon paste electrode was prepared in this work, and its electrochemical performances as the sensor for dopamine detection were characterized with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The preparation conditions and test conditions were optimized respectively. Under the optimized conditions, the POMs modified carbon paste electrode exhibited good selectivity and sensitivity …

Simultaneous Determinations Of Ascorbic Acid, Dopamine And Uric Acid At Ca/Gc Electrode, Ying Zhang, Wang Ren, Min-Jiao Li Feb 2012

Simultaneous Determinations Of Ascorbic Acid, Dopamine And Uric Acid At Ca/Gc Electrode, Ying Zhang, Wang Ren, Min-Jiao Li

Journal of Electrochemistry

The citric acid modified glassy carbon electrode (CA/GC) was constructed by potentiostatic technique and used for simultaneous determinations of ascorbic acid (AA), dopamine (DA) and uric acid (UA) by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The CA/GC electrode exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity towards AA, DA and UA. The oxidation peaks are well separated with the potential differences between AA and DA, DA and UA, and AA and UA being 170, 130 and 300 mV, respectively, which is large enough to determine AA, DA and UA simultaneously. The catalytic peak currents obtained were linearly dependent on the concentrations of …

Simultaneous Determination Of Dopamine(Da)And Epinephrine (Ep) At Ca/Gc Electrode, Wang Ren, Ying Zhang, Min-Jiao Li Aug 2011

Simultaneous Determination Of Dopamine(Da)And Epinephrine (Ep) At Ca/Gc Electrode, Wang Ren, Ying Zhang, Min-Jiao Li

Journal of Electrochemistry

The citric acid modified glassy carbon electrode (CA/GC) was prepared by potentiostatic technique and was used for detections of dopamine (DA), epinephrine (EP), and their mixtures by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The modified electrode shows the enhanced sensitivity and excellent electrochemical discrimination to DA and EP. The cathodic potential difference between DA and EP was about 380 mV, while no cathodic reduction of ascorbic acid (AA) was observed because the oxidation of AA is an irreversible reaction at the sensor. As a result, DA and EP could be determined simultaneously with the interferences of high concentrations of AA being eliminated. …

Determination Of Ddopamine And Ascorbate On Gold Nanoparticle And 4,4-Bis (Methanethiol) Biphenyl (Mtp) Self-Assembled Monolayer Modified Gold Electrode, Hai-Yan Wang, Peng Liu, Ye Wang, Bao-Kang Jin May 2007

Determination Of Ddopamine And Ascorbate On Gold Nanoparticle And 4,4-Bis (Methanethiol) Biphenyl (Mtp) Self-Assembled Monolayer Modified Gold Electrode, Hai-Yan Wang, Peng Liu, Ye Wang, Bao-Kang Jin

Journal of Electrochemistry

A new approach to construct an ampermetric biosensor was described. The 4,4-bis(methanethiol)biphenyl(MTP)is adsorbed on to a bare gold electrode to make self-assembled monolayers(MTP/Au SAMs).Then electrodeposited 2mg/mL HAuCl4 at-200 mV,NG/MTP/Au electrode was prepared. When a differential pulse voltammetric(DPV)technique was used, the peak separation between DA and AA is 155 mV.Hence, the selective determination of dopamine(DA)and ascorbate(AA)in the binary mixture system can be performed.Under the chosen conditions, the peak currents are correspondent linearly to the concentrations of DA and AA in the range of 5.0×10-7~1×10-4 mol·L-1 and 3.5×10-6~1.0×10-3mol·L-1,respectively.The correlation coefficients were 0.998.The detection limit were 1.5×10-7 mol·L-1 and 1.2×10-6 mol·L-1for DA and AA.

Comparison Of The Electrochemical Reactivity Of Electrodes Modified By Carbon Nanotubes With Different Sizes, Guo-Feng Yang, Neng-Qin Jia, Zhi-Yong Wang

Journal of Electrochemistry

The electrochemical activity of multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs) with different sizes, including four different MWNTs with the same length and different diameter, two different MWNTs with the same diameter and different length has been assessed and compared. The various MWNTs modified electrodes were prepared by immobilizing the suitable amount of MWNTs onto a glassy carbon electrode, and their voltammetric responses to ferricyanide, uric acid and dopamine were examined. The corresponding cyclic voltammetric data was showed that the electrochemical and electrocatalytic activities are depended on the nanotube length. The electrochemical reactivity of short MWNT(S-MWNT) is better than that of long MWNT(L-MWNT),which may be mainly attributed to the existence of …
