A Geological Report On An Area Five Miles Southeast Of Renova, Montana, And On An Area Seven Miles South Of Jefferson Island, Montana, Herman Neibauer
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
This trip was conducted to give those students working for their respective degrees an excellent opportunity to work under actual field conditions. A total of three weeks was taken to complete the required work. Two weeks were spent in the field gathering data, and making maps, and the last week was spent in the drawing room at the college preparing the final map.
Areal Geology Of The Post-Paleozoic Surface Of The Northwest Plains, William M. Broderick
Areal Geology Of The Post-Paleozoic Surface Of The Northwest Plains, William M. Broderick
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Probably most of the area included in this report has been examined to some extent by oil geologists, and most, if not all, of the important domes have been discovered and surveyed thoroughly. In parts of the area, the bedrock is covered by glacial drift or alluvium material, but it is reasonable to believe that no new domal structure will be found. This means that surface examination alone will be insufficient in locating new oil fields, so future prospecting will be dependent, to a great extent, on studies of sub-surface stratigraphy.
The Geology And Mineralogy Of The Independence Mining District, Alan Kuhlman
The Geology And Mineralogy Of The Independence Mining District, Alan Kuhlman
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
From 1888 until 1893 the district was a booming mining camp. Seven stamp mills were running and ore was being mined from the Independence, King Solomon, Poorman, Golden, Hidden Treasure and Crown claims. The town of Independence, which was on the Boulder River at the fork of Basin Creek, boasted a population of 400 people.
Geology And Ore Deposits Of The Clinton Mining District, James F. Piquette
Geology And Ore Deposits Of The Clinton Mining District, James F. Piquette
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
This report includes the results of geological investigation of the Clinton Mining District and the Hidden Treasure Mine. The Clinton Mining District is an unorganized mining district situated in the Garnet Range two and one-half miles northeast of the town of Clinton, Montana, which is on the Northern Pacific Railway and the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad seventeen miles east of the city of Missoula.
The district is in the same range of mountains as the Garnet Mining District and the drainage from the district covered is to the south into the Hell Gate or Clarks Fork of …

Report On The Ermont Mine Sec. 35, T. 6 S., R. 11 W., Beaverhead County, Montana, Chester Harkins Steele
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
An examination of the Ermont Mine was requested by the owners, Messrs. J. R. Bowles and R. B. Caswell, to determine the amount and grade of ore developed, the advisability of constructing a mill at the present time, and to recommend future development work.
Geology And Ore Deposits Of The Jardine Mining District, Park County, Montana, Douglas M. Dowell
Geology And Ore Deposits Of The Jardine Mining District, Park County, Montana, Douglas M. Dowell
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The Jardine Mining district is in the extreme southern part of Park County, Montana. Jardine is five and one-half miles northeast of Gardiner, Montana, the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
The Electrolytic Recovery Of Copper And Zinc From Scrap Brass With Special Reference To Lead-Bearing Brass., Frederick A. Hames
The Electrolytic Recovery Of Copper And Zinc From Scrap Brass With Special Reference To Lead-Bearing Brass., Frederick A. Hames
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Several methods have been investigated, with some success, for treating scrap brass to recover copper and zinc, either as pure metals or as salts of the metals. One of the more promising of these methods is electrolysis in sulfate solution for the recovery of pure copper and zinc.
Electrolysis Of Molten Mixtures Of Galena And Lead Chloride., Donald Q. Cole
Electrolysis Of Molten Mixtures Of Galena And Lead Chloride., Donald Q. Cole
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Electrolysis of molten mixtures of lead chloride and galena was carried out under various conditions of temperature, time, composition, and current densities; without a diaphram, and with various diaphrams. Continuous runs, with necessary additions of lead sulfide and lead chloride to maintain a melt of the proper composition, were attempted on a small scale.
The Measurement Of Current Efficiency In Zinc Sulphate Electrolytes Containing Antimony And Cobalt By Hydrogen Evolution, Arthur R. Hard
The Measurement Of Current Efficiency In Zinc Sulphate Electrolytes Containing Antimony And Cobalt By Hydrogen Evolution, Arthur R. Hard
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The measurement of current efficiency by hydrogen evolution is based on the assumption that the portion of the current which deposits no zinc will release hydrogen. This assumption is correct for solutions containing no impurities electropositive to zinc.
The Age-Hardening Of Magnesium With Aluminum And Zinc, K. Deatley Loughridge
The Age-Hardening Of Magnesium With Aluminum And Zinc, K. Deatley Loughridge
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
Magnesium is one of the most active elements and forms oxides, nitrides, and carbides, but not hydrides. Due to its activity, low melting point, low strength when unalloyed, and the difficulty with which it is worked, magnesium has not been and is not at present well developed.
Report On Pole Canyon Area And Area Three Miles Southeast Of Jefferson Island, Ted Newcombe
Report On Pole Canyon Area And Area Three Miles Southeast Of Jefferson Island, Ted Newcombe
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The primary purpose of the trip was to acquaint the students with some of the problems that occur in the field, and also how to make geologic maps of sections, outcrops, faults, and other geologic features of the earths surface.
The Geology Of The Limespur-Sappington Area, Frank W. Archibald
The Geology Of The Limespur-Sappington Area, Frank W. Archibald
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The area to be surveyed was divided up into sections add each crew of three or four members was assigned one of these sections. The first two days were spent in studying and mapping the geologic section in the South Boulder Canyon where we obtained practice in alidade surveying, brunton, pacing, and auto traverse.

Fauna Of The Three Forks Formation In Montana, Will Mitchel Jr.
Bachelors Theses and Reports, 1928 - 1970
The purpose of this paper is to identify and describe the fauna, correlate it with that of the Upper Devonian of other states, to note the geographic distribution, lithologic variations of outcrops, and to compare measured cross sections.
