In recent years numerous efforts worldwide are addressing all aspects of the rapid developing field of nanocomposites. However, the most important fillers-- carbon nanotube and carbon nanofiber - are expensive. In this study, our efforts are aimed at bridging the gap in cost and properties by providing a systematic study of alternative nano materials -- nano graphene plate (NGP) and related composites. We fabricated nano graphene plates through the detailed study of raw materials, chemical treatment methods and nano particle dispersion methods.
