Ionic Conductivity, Li+ Transference Number, And Diffusion Coefficient Of A Solid-State Electrolyte Composite, Lizbeth Zurita May 2024

Ionic Conductivity, Li+ Transference Number, And Diffusion Coefficient Of A Solid-State Electrolyte Composite, Lizbeth Zurita

Reviews, Analyses, and Instructional Studies in Electrochemistry (RAISE)

The design of solid-state electrolyte (SSE) composites involves the fundamental study of transport properties, such as ionic conductivity. This transport property is influenced by the transport mechanisms of the charge species inside the composite, such as diffusion and migration. In this work, we perform the measurement of these three parameters through defined techniques. The resulting parameters were: ionic conductivity, the diffusion coefficient, and the Li+ transference number.

This work analyzes and compares the measuring and technical characteristics of methods for measuring and controlling the parameters of activated sludge in the processes of biological wastewater treatment. As methods for measuring the concentration of activated sludge, methods such as the optical method, the ultrasonic method and the method for measuring the nuclear density of a liquid are considered. The principles of operation of each of these methods are illustrated with graphic drawings for more clarity of the interaction of the measuring signal with the particles of the measured medium. At the end of the work, conclusions on the characteristics …

Changing The Process In Educational Field And Air Navigation Through Advances In Hologram Technology, Camilo Fernandez Sr. Apr 2021

Changing The Process In Educational Field And Air Navigation Through Advances In Hologram Technology, Camilo Fernandez Sr.

Journal of Aviation Technology and Engineering

The objective of this piece is to propose reasons that change the way air traffic controllers and others learn and work in air navigation, but also how they can improve workloads, due to the implementation of holographic radar. This research also aims to describe how this could reduce the cognitive load of an operator, thanks to the improvement of visual perspective and capacity of analysis, in order to more easily control an aircraft.

Seeing that the visual facilitation is well known, radar is able to represent in three dimensions and in detail that which could not previously be perceived. This …

The University has an important role in society in three main axes; education, scientific research and community services where the progress of nations is measured with its strength, the degree of preparation, and kept abreast of the requirements of the times. Because of the fact that the university is made up - at the end - of study plans and programs and also in order to overcome to compete with graduates locally, regionally and internationally, the most important functions of the university asa whole and departments in particular are the preparation of strong plans and study programs for all disciplines …

Design Of An Affordable Rotating Drum Electrospinner For Classroom Education, Peder Solberg Mar 2020

Design Of An Affordable Rotating Drum Electrospinner For Classroom Education, Peder Solberg

The Journal of Undergraduate Research

Electrospinning is a technology used to generate small fibers down to nano-scale size. This method of fiber creation has been around for many years. However, in recent years electrospinning has found increased applications, especially in the area of tissue engineering due to its ability to create fibers with properties similar to the extracellular matrix in tissue. An electrospinning platform can illustrate concepts of engineering, electro-mechanical system design, manufacturing, and biomedical applications in one single package. Hence, it provides an excellent opportunity to integrate into secondary (middle and high school) and post-secondary (undergraduate) technology education.

Furthermore, just as integration of 3D …

Therefore, protection of the Grid is an energy security, homeland security, and national security issue of highest importance. Geomagnetic disturbances (GMD) induced by solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs), electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attacks, and cyber attacks are three events having the potential to plunge …

Fuzzy Logic And Neural Networks - A Glimpse Of The Future, Raymond Manley Nov 2015

Fuzzy Logic And Neural Networks - A Glimpse Of The Future, Raymond Manley

The ITB Journal

In 1965 Lofti Zadeh published his paper on fuzzy set theory , putting it forward as a way of more closely realising the human thought process. Many systems developed to aid human activities have been based on definitive , yes/no, type decision making processes. An example is the way all computers are based on the binary logic system where only two possible and separate logic levels are allowed, a logic 1 or logic 0. However, we know from everyday experience that humans think in terms of vague linguistic categories, for example, the weather is fairly good today. "Fairly good" represents …
