Two-Layered Blockchain-Based Admission Control For Secure Uav Networks, Müge Özçevi̇k Sep 2022

Two-Layered Blockchain-Based Admission Control For Secure Uav Networks, Müge Özçevi̇k

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

The frequent replacement requirement of UAVs for recharging outputs an extreme number of messaging for admission control of end-users. There are many studies that try to optimize the network capacity in an energy-efficient manner. However, they do not consider the security of data and control channels, which is the urgent requirement of 5G. Blockchain handles secure systems. However, the high numbered transactions in blockchain may cause bottlenecks while considering computational delay and throughput of end-user. In UAVs, a high percentage of battery is consumed for computational tasks instead of communication tasks. Therefore, to handle security by considering the computational needs, …

Ai-Based Traffic Forecasting In 5g Network, Maryam Mohseni Aug 2022

Ai-Based Traffic Forecasting In 5g Network, Maryam Mohseni

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

Forecasting of the telecommunication traffic is the foundation for enabling intelligent management features as cellular technologies evolve toward fifth-generation (5G) technology. Since a significant number of network slices are deployed over a 5G network, it is crucial to evaluate the resource requirements of each network slice and how they evolve over time. Mobile network carriers should investigate strategies for network optimization and resource allocation due to the steadily increasing mobile traffic. Network management and optimization strategies will be improved if mobile operators know the cellular traffic demand at a specific time and location beforehand. The most effective techniques nowadays devote …

Non-Orthogonal Multi-Dimensional Modulation And Nonlinear Distortion Compensation For Beyond 5g, Thakshanth Uthayakumar Jul 2022

Non-Orthogonal Multi-Dimensional Modulation And Nonlinear Distortion Compensation For Beyond 5g, Thakshanth Uthayakumar

Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Repository

The introduction of new advanced technologies such as higher carrier frequencies, ultra-wide bandwidth, and increased transmission rate in 5G to support ever growing quality-of-service (QoS) demands have brought new challenges such as transmitter-receiver pair specific and domain specific non-orthogonality induced among spatial, time-frequency, and delay-doppler domain radio resource blocks and nonlinear distortions induced among multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas in spatial domain. In such conditions, current communication systems encounter severe performance degradation and incur higher operational cost. Based on this observation, this thesis aims at creating new multi-dimensional modulation techniques and nonlinear predistortion architectures to achieve higher communication performance with less …

Dual-Polarized Elliptic-H Slot-Coupled Patch Antenna For 5g Applications, Emre Alp Mi̇ran, Mehmet Çi̇ydem May 2022

Dual-Polarized Elliptic-H Slot-Coupled Patch Antenna For 5g Applications, Emre Alp Mi̇ran, Mehmet Çi̇ydem

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

A dual-polarized, slot-coupled dielectric patch antenna design is presented in sub-6 GHz for 5G base stations. Proposed antenna is implemented using two dielectric patch layers (main patch and parasitic patch) above a feeding line layer. Excitation is realized by crossed elliptic-H slots in order to create orthogonal ± 45$^{\circ}$ polarizations. Through the use of patches at proper heights together with elliptic-H slots, significant improvement in impedance bandwidth, matching level, isolation and front-to-back ratio is acquired. Prototype antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 18.5\% (3.23--3.85 GHz) for $ S_{11} $, $ S_{22} $ $

Network Slicing In 5g: Admission, Scheduling, And Security, Raneem Jassim Alghawi Jan 2022

Network Slicing In 5g: Admission, Scheduling, And Security, Raneem Jassim Alghawi

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports

In the past few decades, there was an increase in the number of devices that have wireless capabilities such as phones, televisions, and home appliances. With the high demand for wireless networking, the fifth generation (5G) of mobile networks was designed to support the different services of new applications. In addition, one of the technical issues that 5G would evolve is the increase in traffic and the need to satisfy the user’s experience. With the evolution of wireless networking and 5G, Network Slicing has been introduced to accommodate the diverse requirements of the applications. Thus, network slicing is the concept …
