Designing And Evaluating Of Mimo Systems For Millimeter-Wave Communications, Mojtaba Ahmadi Almasi
Designing And Evaluating Of Mimo Systems For Millimeter-Wave Communications, Mojtaba Ahmadi Almasi
Boise State University Theses and Dissertations
The fifth generation (5G) of wireless communications will integrate all existing technologies while bringing its own to the system. Amongst these technologies, millimeter-wave (mmWave) is emerging as a promising solution for 5G systems. However, to fully harness the potential of mmWave communications, obstacles such as severe path loss, channel sparsity, and hardware complexity should be overcome. The existing cost-effective systems can considerably reduce the hardware complexity and partially severe path loss, while channel sparsity still remains a main problem. Other factors such as transmission reliability and coverage area should be considered in 5G mmWave communications. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is …
Antenna Radiation Element Designs For 5g Applications, Zhijun Gui
Antenna Radiation Element Designs For 5g Applications, Zhijun Gui
Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Honors Theses
This thesis introduced the advantage of the fifth-generation network and gave examples to the three major classes of applications categorized by International Telecommunication Union-Radiocommunication Sector. In this work, a patch antenna and a board-band bow-tie antenna with microelectromechanical switch design were modified to meet 5G communication purposes. The revised patch antenna produced a minimum S11 of -57.92dB, a resonant frequency at the 28GHz, and bandwidth of 4.55GHz. The modified design meets the requirements for wireless communication purposes. During the duplication process of the board-band bow-tie antenna design, multiple discrepancies were found, and the proposed results were not able to achieve. …
30 Ghz Path Loss Modeling And Performance Evaluation For Noncoherent M-Ary Frequency Shift Keying In The 30 Ghz Band, Mohanad Razak Mohsen
30 Ghz Path Loss Modeling And Performance Evaluation For Noncoherent M-Ary Frequency Shift Keying In The 30 Ghz Band, Mohanad Razak Mohsen
Theses and Dissertations
A candidate millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency band and modulation scheme that could fit to many present and future applications has been presented in this work. As is being explored by industry, we also suggest the 30 GHz band as a candidate carrier frequency and non-coherent frequency shift keying (NC-FSK) as a potential modulation scheme for future communication applications. The primary applications are aimed at 5th generation (5G) cellular type systems. Propagation measurements were conducted for outdoor and indoor environments using directional horn antennas for both co-polarized and cross-polarized antenna configurations to model the path loss for our candidate band. The measurements …
Communications With Spectrum Sharing In 5g Networks Via Drone-Mounted Base Stations, Liang Zhang
Communications With Spectrum Sharing In 5g Networks Via Drone-Mounted Base Stations, Liang Zhang
Dissertations
The fifth generation wireless network is designed to accommodate enormous traffic demands for the next decade and to satisfy varying quality of service for different users. Drone-mounted base stations (DBSs) characterized by high mobility and low cost intrinsic attributes can be deployed to enhance the network capacity. In-band full-duplex (IBFD) is a promising technology for future wireless communications that can potentially enhance the spectrum efficiency and the throughput capacity. Therefore, the following issues have been identified and investigated in this dissertation in order to achieve high spectrum efficiency and high user quality of service.
First, the problem of deploying DBSs …
