An Animated Introduction To Digital Logic Design, John D. Carpinelli
An Animated Introduction To Digital Logic Design, John D. Carpinelli
Open and Affordable Textbooks
This book is designed for use in an introductory course on digital logic design, typically offered in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and other related programs. Such a course is usually offered at the sophomore level. This book makes extensive use of animation to illustrate the flow of data within a digital system and to step through some of the procedures used to design and optimize digital circuits.
All of the animations for this book can be found here: https://digitalcommons.njit.edu/dld-animations/
Worksheet 02 - Meshing, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 02 - Meshing, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
This worksheet is designed to oberserve the variations in results when the mesh is varied from coarse to fine, hence how to find the optimum mesh size such that we can get accurate results while not compromising computational power.
Worksheet 07 - Bicone, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 07 - Bicone, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
In this worksheet, setps are given to design a full-wavelength biconical antenna. This is a broadband antenna. The worksheet also shows how to observe surface currents.
Worksheet 10 - Patch, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 10 - Patch, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
In this worksheet, steps are given to create a slotted rectangular microstrip patch antenna with an inset feed using a stripline. The patch antenna is operating in the TM10 mode.
Worksheet 05 - Loop, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 05 - Loop, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
In this worksheet, the users can design a small loop. The small loop shows low directivity, hence at the end of the worksheet, the users can chanage the design parameters and increase the directivity.
Worksheet 06 - Arrays, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 06 - Arrays, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
This worksheet designs an antenna array with three identical dipole elemetns. The antenna is operating as a broadside array. By changing the parameters the users can view the grating lobes in addition to the main lobe.
Worksheet 09 Horn, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 09 Horn, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
This worksheet designs a pyramidal horn antenna fed by a waveport.
Worksheet 03 - Near Field, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 03 - Near Field, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
This worksheet guides students to change the observational region between, reactive near field, radiating near field, and far-field.
Worksheet 08 - Helix, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 08 - Helix, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
This worksheet creates a helical antenna operating in the axial mode. The antenna is mounted on a ground plane. The users can change the circumference of the helix and change the operating mode to broadside or conical if they wish.
Worksheet 04 - Dipole, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Worksheet 04 - Dipole, Ashanthi Maxworth Phd
Antenna Design With HFSS
This worksheet shows how to create a half-wavelength dipole, set the feeder through a port, observe directivity, half-power beamwidth, etc.
Interdisciplinary Education Outreach With Traffic Sensor Build Kits, Sarah V. Hernandez, Mariah B. Crews
Interdisciplinary Education Outreach With Traffic Sensor Build Kits, Sarah V. Hernandez, Mariah B. Crews
Civil Engineering Teaching and Learning
The goal of this project was to attract K-12 students to transportation engineering careers through STEM outreach programs. To accomplish this goal, the object of the project was to design and implement maritime freight oriented educational outreach activities centered on traffic sensing technologies for middle, high school, and first-year college students. In MarTREC Project 5011 (Evaluating the Performance of Intermodal Connectors), the research team designed a low-cost, easily implementable LiDAR and Bluetooth sensor bundle that was capable of detecting, characterizing, and tracking freight trucks as they traveled to and from inland waterway port areas. The sensor provided data necessary to …
Introduction To Signal Timing & Traffic Control, Sarah V. Hernandez, Mariah Crew, Karla Diaz-Corro, Taslima Akter
Introduction To Signal Timing & Traffic Control, Sarah V. Hernandez, Mariah Crew, Karla Diaz-Corro, Taslima Akter
Civil Engineering Teaching and Learning
The purpose of these lesson plans is to introduce students to traffic signalization basics. Students will be lead through a series of mini-lectures on traffic control and signalization including a discussion on the limitations and benefits of traffic signalization. The lesson plans compliment a computer simulation “game” in which students act as manual operators for a single up to four by four gridded intersection. Students attempt to control the progression of signals to understand the relationship between signal timing and user delay. Through experimentation with the simulation, students generate a presentation discussing the benefits and drawbacks of signal timing and …
