The Knowledge-Based Analysis On Medium Resolution Images Of Remote Sensing To Extraction Information Land Use Type Scs-Cn, The Case Study On Grompol Watershed, Puguh Dwi Raharjo, Totok Gunawan, Mohammad Pramono Hadi

Makara Journal of Technology

Remote sensing imagery Landsat-8 is one image that has a good temporal resolution; in addition to the availability of data, this image can be obtained free of charge. Land cover type SCS-CN is part of a unit of land that affects runoff. The use of medium resolution imagery in reducing the SCS-CN land use type is considered relatively difficult, and it yields less good accuracy. Limitations on multispectral classification only rely on facts derived from spectral reflection, so that the two data are the same since different characteristic results are not so good. This study aims to determine the accuracy …

Manifold Learning Based Spectral Unmixing Of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Data, Jun-Hwa Chi Oct 2013

Manifold Learning Based Spectral Unmixing Of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Data, Jun-Hwa Chi

Open Access Dissertations

Nonlinear mixing effects inherent in hyperspectral data are not properly represented in linear spectral unmixing models. Although direct nonlinear unmixing models provide capability to capture nonlinear phenomena, they are difficult to formulate and the results are not always generalizable. Manifold learning based spectral unmixing accommodates nonlinearity in the data in the feature extraction stage followed by linear mixing, thereby incorporating some characteristics of nonlinearity while retaining advantages of linear unmixing approaches. Since endmember selection is critical to successful spectral unmixing, it is important to select proper endmembers from the manifold space. However, excessive computational burden hinders development of manifolds for …

Coastal Physical Vulnerability Of Surabaya And Its Surrounding Area To Sea Level Rise, Sayidah Sulma, Eko Kusratmoko, Ratna Saraswati Nov 2012

Coastal Physical Vulnerability Of Surabaya And Its Surrounding Area To Sea Level Rise, Sayidah Sulma, Eko Kusratmoko, Ratna Saraswati

Makara Journal of Technology

The study for coastal vulnerability to sea level rise was carried out in Surabaya and its surrounding area, it has focused on calculations of the physical vulnerability index were used coastal vulnerability index (CVI) methods. It was standardized by the multi criteria analysis (MCA) approach according to the study area. The score of each physical variable derived from remote sensing satellite data and the results of studies that have been done, such as modeling results and thematic maps, and then integrated into geographic information systems (GIS). Result of this study shows that the coastal areas of Gresik, Surabaya, and Sidoarjo …

Remote Sensing And Geographical Information System To Identify Drought Potency, Puguh Dwi Raharjo Nov 2010

Remote Sensing And Geographical Information System To Identify Drought Potency, Puguh Dwi Raharjo

Makara Journal of Technology

Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System to Identify Drought Potency. Kebumen regency was drought in year 2008, community clean water shortages and irrigation water following a decline in water resources. The use of remote sensing data and GIS can be used to identify the potential for drought-prone areas. Transformation of Landsat TM satellite imagery to obtain the brightness index, wetness index and vegetation index used to determine surface conditions in relation to drought. Brightness index and wetness index derived from the tasseled cap modifications, while the vegetation index derived from normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) values. Other parameters such as …

Algorithm Development Of The Aglite-Lidar Instrument, Christian Marchant May 2008

Algorithm Development Of The Aglite-Lidar Instrument, Christian Marchant

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

Particulate emissions from agricultural operations are increasingly receiving attention from regulatory bodies as a potential source of air pollution. The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has developed the Aglite system, a suite of instruments including a lidar that is capable of measuring particulate emission levels from agricultural facilities. This system provides a novel method of measuring particulate mass (PM) pollution, allowing measurements to be taken of diverse types of facilities with high temporal and spatial resolution. This high resolution allows for the measurement of emission levels generated by specific activities, fostering the development and determination of best management practices.

The Aglite …

Application Of Remote Sensing For Mapping Soil Organic Matter Content, Bangun Muljo Sukojo, Wahono Wahono Dec 2002

Application Of Remote Sensing For Mapping Soil Organic Matter Content, Bangun Muljo Sukojo, Wahono Wahono

Makara Journal of Technology

Application of Remote Sensing for Mapping Soil Organic Matter Content. Information organic content is important in monitoring and managing the environment as well as doing agricultural production activities. This research tried to map soil organic content in Malang using remote sensing technology. The research uses 6 bands of data captured by Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) satellite (band 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7). The research focuses on pixels having Normalized Difference Soil Index (NDSI) more than 0.3. Ground-truth data were collected by analysing organic content of soil samples using Black-Walkey method. The result of analysis shows that digital number of …
