Simulation Of Vehicle Startup Delay At Green Light And Its Direct And Chain-Reaction Impact On Traffic Flow, Longxi Luo, Lijun Xie, Jianping Wu, Xu Ming

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: In current traffic simulations, it is implicitly assumed vehicles are driven by ideal drivers. Therefore, simulated vehicles make the most reasonable decisions such as moving out immediately when traffic lights turn green, resulting in a gap between simulations and real traffics. Research shows that drivers, including those who follow the rules, show a delay in starting-up their vehicles at the green light. The vehicle startup delay (SUD) is even more significant for drivers by things such as cell phones during waiting. However, the SUD has rarely been considered in simulations. The SUD is simulated to study its impacts on …

Travel Time Reliability Of Inside Area Of Roundabouts, Yuzhou Duan, Tingting Chai, Jian Jie Nov 2019

Travel Time Reliability Of Inside Area Of Roundabouts, Yuzhou Duan, Tingting Chai, Jian Jie

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Based on the travel time reliability, this paper analyzes the traffic states in the inside area of the roundabout. The travel time reliability model is established from three aspects: route path, entrance and system, and the practicability of the model is verified by the VISSIM simulation. On this basis, the correlation analysis is made on between the adjacent paths of the same entrance and adjacent paths of the adjacent entrances, and the fitting equations are obtained. Taking the number of lanes, traffic volumes, proportion of left-turns and the rate of heavy vehicles as variables, a sensitivity analysis …

Inputting Strategy Simulation Of Multi-Ramp Coordinated Control Signal For Urban Expressway, Mingbao Pang, Zemin Xia, Yanhai Luan Jan 2019

Inputting Strategy Simulation Of Multi-Ramp Coordinated Control Signal For Urban Expressway, Mingbao Pang, Zemin Xia, Yanhai Luan

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Based on the analysis of the driver's reaction when the urban expressway is in traffic jamming state and stated preference survey (SP) investigating, the key parameters' variation trends when the driving behavior adjusts and the possible path changing probability for a driver in each state are determined. A cellular automaton model of coordinated control section on urban expressway is established, where the driving behaviors are described accurately. The characteristics of traffic flow is discussed via the simulation experiments after inputting coordination control signals with different on-ramp numbers upstream of jamming point. The effects of each coordinated control modes on …

Cam Of Possible Accident For Longitudinal Slope Curve Of Mountain Freeway, Mingbao Pang, Zhanghui Cai Jan 2019

Cam Of Possible Accident For Longitudinal Slope Curve Of Mountain Freeway, Mingbao Pang, Zhanghui Cai

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Based on the analysis of vehicle driving behaviors and accidents, a cellular automaton (CA) simulation model of longitudinal slope curve on mountain freeway with the possible occurrence of traffic accident was established. The model was preliminarily validated via the comparisons between the accident rates in simulation experiments and that in actual statistics for the concrete roads. The possible schemes were determined by setting the different values of road geometric linear parameters. The nonlinear behaviors of traffic flow were simulated and the accident probabilities were obtained. The relations among the accident rate and the parameters’ values were discussed. …

Airport Surface Traffic Simulation Based On Agent-Cellular Automaton, Zhiwei Xing, Shijiao Li, Yunxiao Tang, Luo Qian

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: In order to analyze the traffic situation of airport surface, an airport surface traffic simulation method is proposed based on the theory of agent and cellular automaton model. The traffic characteristics of airport surface are analyzed. The combination of agent theory and the cellular automaton model is discussed. Different parts of the airport surface traffic are defined respectively as one-dimensional cellular automaton, and aircraft agent is designed, which means that a traffic simulation model is constructed based on agent-cellular automaton. The airport surface traffic is simulated. Simulation results show that the simulation method has the characteristics of simple, high …
