Region-Based Approach For Single Image Super-Resolution, Min Zhang Oct 2016

Region-Based Approach For Single Image Super-Resolution, Min Zhang

Electrical & Computer Engineering Theses & Dissertations

Single image super-resolution (SR) is a technique that generates a high- resolution image from a single low-resolution image [1,2,10,11]. Single image super- resolution can be generally classified into two groups: example-based and self-similarity based SR algorithms. The performance of the example-based SR algorithm depends on the similarity between testing data and the database. Usually, a large database is needed for better performance in general. This would result in heavy computational cost. The self-similarity based SR algorithm can generate a high-resolution (HR) image with sharper edges and fewer ringing artifacts if there is sufficient recurrence within or across scales of the …

A Software Design Tool For Predictable Performance In Real-Time, Data Flow Architectures, Brij Mohan V. Mandala Oct 1990

A Software Design Tool For Predictable Performance In Real-Time, Data Flow Architectures, Brij Mohan V. Mandala

Electrical & Computer Engineering Theses & Dissertations

A software design tool which aids in the performance evaluation and selection of operating points for an algorithm implemented in ATAMM defined data flow architectures is presented in this thesis. ATAMM (Algorithm To Architecture Mapping Model) is a new graph theoretic model developed by researchers at Old Dominion University and the NASA-Langley Research Center. ATAMM is capable of modeling the execution of large-grained algorithms on distributed data flow architectures. A software tool is required for predicting the performance, determining the resource requirements and for selecting suitable operating points for an ATAMM based system. The ATAMM Design Tool presented in this …

Design Of Efficient Algorithms Through Minimization Of Data Transfers, Yong Mo Chong Oct 1983

Design Of Efficient Algorithms Through Minimization Of Data Transfers, Yong Mo Chong

Electrical & Computer Engineering Theses & Dissertations

This thesis explores the time optimal implementation of computational graphs on a finite register machine. The implementation fully exploits the machine architecture, especially, the number of registers. The derived algorithms allow one to obtain time efficient implementations of a given graph in machines with a known number of registers.

These optimization procedures are applied to digital signal processing graphs. It is shown that the regular structure of these graphs allows one to identify computational kernels which, when used repeatedly, can cover the entire graph, The l- and r-register implementations of Hadamard and Fast Fourier Transforms using various computational kernels are …
