Service Oriented Solution Modeling And Variation Propagation Analysis Based On Architectural Building Blocks, Liang-Jie Zhang, Jia Zhang Sep 2013

Service Oriented Solution Modeling And Variation Propagation Analysis Based On Architectural Building Blocks, Liang-Jie Zhang, Jia Zhang

Jia Zhang

In spite of the widely recognized benefits of applying Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) to design enterprise-scale software systems, its actual application practice is not always a success. One major reason is the lack of a systematic engineering process and tool supported by reusable architectural artifacts. Toward this ultimate goal, this paper proposes a new method of architectural building blocks (ABB)-based SOA solution design and it is applicable to any layered or tiered infrastructure. We present the modeling of solution-level architectural artifacts and their relationships, whose formalization enables event-based variation notification and propagation analysis. The goal is to provide architecture-level support …

Technical Architecture Of Enabling Body Of Knowledge System For Effective Learning And Information Dissemination, Liang-Jie Zhang, Jia Zhang Dec 2012

Technical Architecture Of Enabling Body Of Knowledge System For Effective Learning And Information Dissemination, Liang-Jie Zhang, Jia Zhang

Jia Zhang

In the current era of knowledge explosion, many fields are witnessing a tremendous amount of research and practice reported on a regular basis. How to help people effectively and efficiently study state-of-the-art knowledge in a specific field has become an urgent task yet highly challenging. On top of the Internet as an unstructured knowledge base, this paper reports the design and development of a Body of Knowledge portal (BoK), which can be used as a novel learning environment. Leveraging the key technologies of services computing (Web 2.0, Web services and Service-Oriented Architecture), a BoK provides a uniform gateway for researchers …

Service-oriented process customization is a key issue in SaaS. In this chapter, based on the RGPS meta-model framework, we propose a service-oriented process customization approach that can help end-users configure a personalized mashup in design time. Corresponding visualization prototypes are introduced, and a case study illustrates how to follow our approach to customize a shipping mashup. Our approach depends on the quality of domain models to a large extent. If users’ requirements cannot be satisfied, their unmatched goals will be recorded, which will in turn contribute to the evolution of domain models. So our approach is an iterative method in …
