Security For 5g Mobile Wireless Networks, Dongfeng Fang, Yi Qian, Rose Qingyang Hu

Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering: Faculty Publications

The advanced features of 5G mobile wireless network systems yield new security requirements and challenges. This paper presents a comprehensive survey on security of 5G wireless network systems compared to the traditional cellular networks. The paper starts with a review on 5G wireless networks particularities as well as on the new requirements and motivations of 5G wireless security. The potential attacks and security services with the consideration of new service requirements and new use cases in 5G wireless networks are then summarized. The recent development and the existing schemes for the 5G wireless security are presented based on the corresponding …

Availability Of Datasets For Digital Forensics–And What Is Missing, Cinthya Grajeda, Frank Breitinger, Ibrahim Baggili Jan 2017

Availability Of Datasets For Digital Forensics–And What Is Missing, Cinthya Grajeda, Frank Breitinger, Ibrahim Baggili

Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science Faculty Publications

This paper targets two main goals. First, we want to provide an overview of available datasets that can be used by researchers and where to find them. Second, we want to stress the importance of sharing datasets to allow researchers to replicate results and improve the state of the art. To answer the first goal, we analyzed 715 peer-reviewed research articles from 2010 to 2015 with focus and relevance to digital forensics to see what datasets are available and focused on three major aspects: (1) the origin of the dataset (e.g., real world vs. synthetic), (2) if datasets were released …

Modeling And Analysis Of A Novel Dual Open-End Stator Windings Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine With Dampers, Abdelmonoem Nayli, Sami Guizani, Faouzi Ben Ammar Jan 2017

Modeling And Analysis Of A Novel Dual Open-End Stator Windings Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine With Dampers, Abdelmonoem Nayli, Sami Guizani, Faouzi Ben Ammar

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

This work presents a novel wound rotor synchronous machine with dampers with dual three-phase open-end stator windings. The aim of the proposed machine is to improve the power segmentation and the availability of the drive system. The mathematical model of this machine is presented in the Park reference frame. This machine is supplied by four 2-level inverters, where each inverter is dimensioned for quarter power of the machine. For comparison purposes, we use a double star synchronous machine fed by two 2-level inverters. Comparative simulation analysis using THD voltage, THD stator current, and torque undulation showed significant advantages of the …
