Routing Of Time-Sensitive Data In Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Necdet Kilic
Routing Of Time-Sensitive Data In Mobile Ad Hoc Networks, Necdet Kilic
Theses and Dissertations
This research focuses on routing of time-sensitive data in mobile ad hoc networks. Routing protocols that were developed for ad hoc networks have been reviewed. Ad Hoc On-demand Distance Vectoring (AODV) routing protocol, which is a prominent routing protocol among these protocols have been implemented in OPNET, a discrete-event simulation tool. Taking AODV as a point of departure, a routing protocol named Real Time Routing Protocol (RTRP) has been developed and also implemented in simulation environment. The performance of these routing protocols have been observed by simulating them in various experiments where the workload has been chosen to be time-sensitive …
Wavelet Domain Communication System (Wdcs): Design, Model, Simulation, And Analysis, Randall W. Klein
Wavelet Domain Communication System (Wdcs): Design, Model, Simulation, And Analysis, Randall W. Klein
Theses and Dissertations
A proposed wavelet domain communication system (WDCS) using transform domain processing is demonstrated as having enhanced interference avoidance capability under adverse environmental conditions. The WDCS system samples the environment and uses the wavelet transform, to determine interference presence and time/scale location. A digital communication waveform (basis function) is subsequently designed in the wavelet domain to specifically avoid regions containing interference. The WDCS basis function is data modulated prior to transmission. Assuming perfect synchronization, the receiver replicates a locally generated basis function for correlating with the received signal and demodulating the data. The proposed system is modeled and simulation results are …
Using Direct-Sequenced Spread Spectrum In A Wired Local Area Network, Robert J. Bonner
Using Direct-Sequenced Spread Spectrum In A Wired Local Area Network, Robert J. Bonner
Theses and Dissertations
Code division multiple access provides an ability to share channel bandwidth amongst users at the same time. Individual user performance is not degraded with the addition of more users, unlike traditional Ethernet. Using direct sequenced spread spectrum in a wired local area network, network performance is improved. For a network in overload conditions, individual station throughput is increased by nearly 212% while mean end-to-end delay was reduced by 800%. The vast improvement demonstrated by this research has the capability to extend legacy-cabling infrastructures for many years to come while easily accommodating new bandwidth intensive multimedia applications.
Multicast Algorithms For Mobile Satellite Communication Networks, Ryan W. Thomas
Multicast Algorithms For Mobile Satellite Communication Networks, Ryan W. Thomas
Theses and Dissertations
With the rise of mobile computing and an increasing need for ubiquitous high speed data connections, Internet-in-the-sky solutions are becoming increasingly viable. To reduce the network overhead of one-to-many transmissions, the multicast protocol has been devised. The implementation of multicast in these Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations is a critical component to achieving an omnipresent network environment. This research examines the system performance associated with two terrestrial-based multicast mobility solutions, Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol (DVMRP) with mobile IP and On Demand Multicast Routing Protocol (ODMRP). These protocols are implemented and simulated in a six plane, 66 satellite LEO constellation. …

The scope of this project describes World Wide Graphics (WWG) a software package that provides instructors with the tools needed to present a web-based presentation to a group of students while having the ability of enhancing the prepared HTML slide with userdrawn graphics and highlighting.
Design And Implementation Of An Intranet-Solution Especially With Workflow Aspects, Robert Loew
Design And Implementation Of An Intranet-Solution Especially With Workflow Aspects, Robert Loew
Theses
An Intranet support a new or simply an easier information system for all the workers within a company using internet technology. On the one hand, employees can use Web technology and very simple tools to provide and navigate information. On the other hand, the costly and time-consuming business of installing and maintaining software on local PCs can be avoided by using Browser-based Intranet applications. Ideally, it would be possible to access all forms of information processing using one and the same Web browser. This is the aim of the Intranet Project upon which this thesis is based.

Bluetooth Software On Linux, Wireless Hand-Held Devices, Teck Khoon Low
Theses : Honours
In order to enable existing computers (non-Bluetooth ready) to connect to a Bluetooth piconet, a Bluetooth hardware device comprising of the Radio antenna, the baseband and control circuit is used. The digital portion of this device is also known as a Host Controller, HC. In the traditional communication lingo, the Bluetooth Hardware functions, as the Data Communication Equipment (DCE) while the Host is the Data terminal Equipment (DTE). This report discusses the theory and implementation of the communication protocol between the Host and the Host Controller, enabling communication between the computer and the Bluetooth hardware
Statistical Multiplexing And Connection Admission Control In Atm Networks, Guoqiang Mao
Statistical Multiplexing And Connection Admission Control In Atm Networks, Guoqiang Mao
Theses: Doctorates and Masters
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) technology is widely employed for the transport of network traffic, and has the potential to be the base technology for the next generation of global communications. Connection Admission Control (CAC) is the effective traffic control mechanism which is necessary in ATM networks in order to avoid possible congestion at each network node and to achieve the Quality-of-Service (QoS) requested by each connection. CAC determines whether or not the network should accept a new connection. A new connection will only be accepted if the network has sufficient resources to meet its QoS requirements without affecting the QoS …

Attitudes And Perceptions Regarding Internet-Based Electronic Data Interchange In A Public Organization In Saudi Arabia, Abdulrahman S. Al-Zumaia
Dissertations and Theses @ UNI
This study examined the attitudes and perceptions of staff members and administrators in the General Directorate for Private Institutes & Centers (GDPI&C), Training institutes, and Centers in Saudi Arabia toward Internet-based Electronic Data Interchange (I-EDI) in a public organization. A survey was conducted of a group of GDPI&C members and randomly selected Institutes and Centers. The 339 respondents participated anonymously by providing demographic information and completing the attitudes and perceptions section of I-EDI questionnaire. The survey response rate was 82.6%.
An attitude survey was distributed to staff members, administrators, and faculty members in the Saudi Arabian GDPI&C, Training Institutes, and …
