Automated Network Exploitation Utilizing Bayesian Decision Networks, Graeme M. Roberts Mar 2021

Automated Network Exploitation Utilizing Bayesian Decision Networks, Graeme M. Roberts

Theses and Dissertations

Computer Network Exploitation (CNE) is the process of using tactics and techniques to penetrate computer systems and networks in order to achieve desired effects. It is currently a manual process requiring significant experience and time that are in limited supply. This thesis presents the Automated Network Discovery and Exploitation System (ANDES) which demonstrates that it is feasible to automate the CNE process. The uniqueness of ANDES is the use of Bayesian decision networks to represent the CNE domain and subject matter expert knowledge. ANDES conducts multiple execution cycles, which build upon previous action results. Cycles begin by modeling the current …

Administrative Law In The Automated State, Cary Coglianese Jan 2021

Administrative Law In The Automated State, Cary Coglianese

All Faculty Scholarship

In the future, administrative agencies will rely increasingly on digital automation powered by machine learning algorithms. Can U.S. administrative law accommodate such a future? Not only might a highly automated state readily meet longstanding administrative law principles, but the responsible use of machine learning algorithms might perform even better than the status quo in terms of fulfilling administrative law’s core values of expert decision-making and democratic accountability. Algorithmic governance clearly promises more accurate, data-driven decisions. Moreover, due to their mathematical properties, algorithms might well prove to be more faithful agents of democratic institutions. Yet even if an automated state were …

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: In the study of mechanical configuration problem of automated container terminal, a system simulation model based on discrete event simulation is constructed. The key parameters and interference factors that affect the performance of the system are fully considered in the model and a mechanical scheduling algorithm interface to ensure the effectiveness of the simulation model is designed. On the premise of ensuring the reliability of the container terminal system, a cycle optimization method of mechanical configuration scheme is proposed to minimize the cost. An example is given to solve the mechanical configuration scheme of an automatic container terminal. …

Examination Of Adoption Theory On The Devops Practice Of Continuous Delivery, Andrew John Anderson Jan 2019

Examination Of Adoption Theory On The Devops Practice Of Continuous Delivery, Andrew John Anderson

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Many organizations have difficulty adopting advanced software development practices. Some software development project managers in large organizations are not aligned with the relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, as moderated by experience, with intent to adopt the DevOps practice of continuous delivery. The purpose of this study was to examine the statistical relationships between the independent variables—performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, as moderated by experience—and the dependent variable of behavioral intent to adopt a continuous delivery system. Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, and Davis's unified theory of acceptance and use of technology provided …

Collaborative Robotic Path Planning For Industrial Spraying Operations On Complex Geometries, Steven Brown Jan 2018

Collaborative Robotic Path Planning For Industrial Spraying Operations On Complex Geometries, Steven Brown

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Implementation of automated robotic solutions for complex tasks currently faces a few major hurdles. For instance, lack of effective sensing and task variability – especially in high-mix/low-volume processes – creates too much uncertainty to reliably hard-code a robotic work cell. Current collaborative frameworks generally focus on integrating the sensing required for a physically collaborative implementation. While this paradigm has proven effective for mitigating uncertainty by mixing human cognitive function and fine motor skills with robotic strength and repeatability, there are many instances where physical interaction is impractical but human reasoning and task knowledge is still needed. The proposed framework consists …

Automated Module For Characterization Of Reference Standards Of Capacitance By Impedance-Matrix Method, Satish Singh, Thomas John

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

An automated module has been developed, implemented, and validated for the characterization of four-terminal-pair capacitance standards using an impedance-matrix method. These air-dielectric capacitance standards are being used as reference or transfer standards of capacitance at high frequency across national metrology institutes worldwide. In the reported work, an automated characterization module performs the acquisition of reference capacitance and residual capacitive parameters from an ultraprecision capacitance bridge. It also acquires single-port reactances of the capacitance standard from an impedance analyzer at frequencies ranging from 40 MHz to 100 MHz. The acquired capacitive and reactance parameters are stored structurally in arrays from where …
