A Visual Analytics Of Urban Traffic Events Using Social Media Data, Xiangping Wu, Lijun Ping, Dongshi Xu May 2022

A Visual Analytics Of Urban Traffic Events Using Social Media Data, Xiangping Wu, Lijun Ping, Dongshi Xu

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Traffic text data in social media can supplement traffic flow information, for which a visual analysis method for traffic events is proposed. A text processing model is designed to process the social media data and extract the description information of traffic event. The vector representation of road node attributes is learned based on graph embedding algorithm, and a road similarity model is estbalished. A prediction model of the traffic event is built based on the road similarity and the kernel density model. An interactive visual analysis system is designed to carry out visual analysis. Though traffic …

Data-Driven Framework For Understanding & Modeling Ride-Sourcing Transportation Systems, Bishoy Kelleny May 2022

Data-Driven Framework For Understanding & Modeling Ride-Sourcing Transportation Systems, Bishoy Kelleny

Civil & Environmental Engineering Theses & Dissertations

Ride-sourcing transportation services offered by transportation network companies (TNCs) like Uber and Lyft are disrupting the transportation landscape. The growing demand on these services, along with their potential short and long-term impacts on the environment, society, and infrastructure emphasize the need to further understand the ride-sourcing system. There were no sufficient data to fully understand the system and integrate it within regional multimodal transportation frameworks. This can be attributed to commercial and competition reasons, given the technology-enabled and innovative nature of the system. Recently, in 2019, the City of Chicago the released an extensive and complete ride-sourcing trip-level data for …

Visual Analysis Of Cross-Domain Association Of Time-Series Data, Beibei Han, Yingmei Wei, Yujie Fang, Shanshan Wan Jan 2022

Visual Analysis Of Cross-Domain Association Of Time-Series Data, Beibei Han, Yingmei Wei, Yujie Fang, Shanshan Wan

Journal of System Simulation

Abstract: Time series data is the important research object of data mining. The current visual analysis technology of time series data rarely conducts the cross-domain correlation. The development and evolution of statistical time series data in the spatio-temporal domain and the text theme data in the cognitive domain cannot be simulitaneously supervised in a unified view. The user's visual analysis process based on cross-domain time series data is abstracted and a visual analysis process model is proposed. A multi-view collaborative cross-domain correlation visual analysis tool is designed on the basis of the model. The case study of epidemic time …
