Analytical Solution Of Deformation Of Underlying Shield Tunnel Caused By Foundation Pit Excavation And Dewatering, Ling-Xiao Guan, Chang-Jie Xu, Xue-Peng Wang, Xue-Qin Xia, Wen-Hai Ke

Rock and Soil Mechanics

The foundation pit excavation and dewatering break the equilibrium stress field of the surrounding soil layer and negatively affect the underlying shield tunnel. The analytical solution of the longitudinal deformation of the underlying tunnel caused by foundation pit excavation and dewatering is proposed using a two-stage analysis method. In the first stage, Mindlin elastic solution and effective stress principle are used to calculate the additional stress caused by excavation and dewatering. In the second stage, the shield tunnel is treated as a Timoshenko beam resting on the Pasternak foundation to simulate the interaction between the tunnel and soil. The analytical …

A Calculation Method For Deformation Of Diaphragm Wall Of Narrow Deep Foundation Pit In Soft Soil Considering Spatio-Temporal Effect, Kun-Yong Zhang, Meng Zhang, Bin Sun, Fu-Dong Li, Yong-Zhou Jian Dec 2023

A Calculation Method For Deformation Of Diaphragm Wall Of Narrow Deep Foundation Pit In Soft Soil Considering Spatio-Temporal Effect, Kun-Yong Zhang, Meng Zhang, Bin Sun, Fu-Dong Li, Yong-Zhou Jian

Rock and Soil Mechanics

To accurately evaluate the safety of foundation pit construction in soft soil area and its impact on the surroundings, the time and space influencing factors during excavation cannot be ignored. In this paper, based on the excavation of a deep foundation pit in the soft soil area of the Yangtze River floodplain, a 3D finite element model was established considering the combination of bottom-up and top-down constructions, and the calculated values of horizontal displacement of the diaphragm wall were compared with the measured values to verify the reliability of the finite element calculation. Based on theoretical analysis, numerical calculation and …

Excavation Response Analysis Of Prefabricated Recyclable Support Structure For Water-Rich Silt Foundation Pit, Rui-Song Wang, Cheng-Chao Guo, Pei-Yuan Lin, Fu-Ming Wang Jul 2023

Excavation Response Analysis Of Prefabricated Recyclable Support Structure For Water-Rich Silt Foundation Pit, Rui-Song Wang, Cheng-Chao Guo, Pei-Yuan Lin, Fu-Ming Wang

Rock and Soil Mechanics

The prefabricated recyclable support structure provides a new green support system with economic security, functional coordination and sustainable development for the development of underground space. The physical model test of the foundation pit of a pipe-jacking working well in Zhengzhou city is carried out based on the similarity theory. A three-dimensional fluid-solid coupling model that can differentiate the deformation difference between rigid and flexible components in the support system is established by using the ABAQUS software. The stress and deformation characteristics of support structure in the process of dewatering and excavation are analyzed. The influences of dewatering and excavation on …

Analytical Method To Estimate The Influence Of Foundation Pit Excavation Adjacent To The Station (Working Shaft) On The Underlying Shield Tunnel, Zu-Xian Wang, Cheng-Hua Shi, Chen-Jie Gong, Cheng-Yong Cao, Jian-Wen Liu, Zhu Peng Oct 2022

Analytical Method To Estimate The Influence Of Foundation Pit Excavation Adjacent To The Station (Working Shaft) On The Underlying Shield Tunnel, Zu-Xian Wang, Cheng-Hua Shi, Chen-Jie Gong, Cheng-Yong Cao, Jian-Wen Liu, Zhu Peng

Rock and Soil Mechanics

The shield tunnel is typically simplified as an infinite beam with two free ends in existing analytical models, which are used to calculate the longitudinal deformation of the underlying shield tunnel induced by the excavation of a foundation pit. However, the applicability of those analytical models is limited due to the simplification. The current study is aimed at estimating analytically the longitudinal deformation of the underlying shield tunnel induced by the excavation of a foundation pit adjacent to the station (working shaft). The constraint on the shield tunnel generated by the joint between the station (working shaft) and the tunnel …

Impacts Of Pit Excavation On Foundation Piles In Deep Silty Soil By Centrifugal Model Tests, Guo-Hui Wang, Wen-Hua Chen, Qing-Ke Nie, Jun-Hong Chen, Hui-Hong Fan, Chuan Zhang Sep 2020

Impacts Of Pit Excavation On Foundation Piles In Deep Silty Soil By Centrifugal Model Tests, Guo-Hui Wang, Wen-Hua Chen, Qing-Ke Nie, Jun-Hong Chen, Hui-Hong Fan, Chuan Zhang

Rock and Soil Mechanics

The foundation pit excavation of a power plant located along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu province is selected to study the interaction mechanism between piles and soils during excavation of foundation pits in deep silty soft soil. Thus an indoor centrifugal model test with the similarity ratio of 1:50 is designed. The influence of foundation pit excavation on existing pile and surrounding soil in deep silty soft soil are analyzed from different aspects including the pile strain, pile displacement, pile top displacement, surface settlement and soil deformation influence range, pile bending moment and pore water pressure. Results from the centrifugal …
