As you know, in the conditions of an unpaired train schedule at points of turnover and re-coupling of locomotives, it becomes necessary to determine candidates for dispatch or dispatch of locomotives in reserve. In this article, a technology has been developed to minimize the downtime of locomotives at points of turnover and re-coupling in conditions of their insufficiency or excess. The successive arrival of freight trains to the station performing border control of trains leads to a glut of adjacent sections by trains, mainly due to the employment of border guard brigades. Without the use of operational solutions in such conditions, the reserve of bandwidth is reduced and the need for locomotives is increased due to hot downtimes when the train station is not accepted for border control.
