Experimental Study On Brazilian Splitting Of Phyllite Under The Coupling Effects Of Water, Pore And Bedding, Chuang Zhang, Song Ren, Ping Zhang, Neng-Zeng Long Oct 2021

Experimental Study On Brazilian Splitting Of Phyllite Under The Coupling Effects Of Water, Pore And Bedding, Chuang Zhang, Song Ren, Ping Zhang, Neng-Zeng Long

Rock and Soil Mechanics

Phylite is widely distributed in southwest of China. Factors such as groundwater, bedding, micro-pores and micro-cracks will weaken its mechanical properties to some extent, thus posing severe challenges to the stability of the related projects. Therefore, in this paper, based on Brazilian splitting test, the evolutions of the tensile strength, energy and failure forms of phyllite under the coupling effects of water, bedding and pore are studied. The results show that the tensile strength decreases gradually with the increase of moisture content, pore diameter and bedding angle. However, the tensile strength has different sensitivities to the changes of them, which …

Effect Of Moisture Content On Characteristic Stress And Acoustic Emission Characteristics Of Red Sandstone, Kui Zhao, Shan-Hu Ran, Peng Zeng, Dao-Xue Yang, Tian-Ye Teng Aug 2021

Effect Of Moisture Content On Characteristic Stress And Acoustic Emission Characteristics Of Red Sandstone, Kui Zhao, Shan-Hu Ran, Peng Zeng, Dao-Xue Yang, Tian-Ye Teng

Rock and Soil Mechanics

In order to investigate the response law of moisture content to the characteristic stress and acoustic emission characteristics of red sandstone, the uniaxial compression tests of red sandstone under different moisture content conditions were conducted using RMT-150C rock mechanical pressure testing machine and PCI-Ⅱ AE win acoustic emission system. The physical and mechanical parameters and characteristic stress evolution mechanism of red sandstone under water erosion are analyzed, and the evolution law of acoustic emission (wide and narrow-band) time series mode under different moisture content conditions is also investigated. At the same time, the damage evolution model of red sandstone is …

Mechanical Properties And Damage Constitutive Model Of Coal Under The Coupled Hydro-Mechanical Effect, Bo-Bo Li, Zhong-Hui Wang, Chong-Hong Ren, Yao Zhang, Jiang Xu, Jian-Hua Li Jun 2021

Mechanical Properties And Damage Constitutive Model Of Coal Under The Coupled Hydro-Mechanical Effect, Bo-Bo Li, Zhong-Hui Wang, Chong-Hong Ren, Yao Zhang, Jiang Xu, Jian-Hua Li

Rock and Soil Mechanics

In order to explore the impact of moisture on the mechanical properties of coal, the triaxial compression tests of raw coal with different moisture contents are carried out by using the triaxial servo-controlled seepage equipment for thermal-hydro- mechanical coupling in coal containing methane. Based on elastic damage mechanics, the damage variables of coal with different moisture contents are deduced, and the damage constitutive model of coal under hydro-mechanical coupling is established, the deformation characteristics of coal with different moisture contents are obtained. The results show that: (1) the deformation and failure process of coal under different moisture contents are similar, …
