Analysis Of Shear Characteristics Of Soil-Rock Mixture–Geotextile Interface Under Normal Cyclic Loading, Shui-Jiang Li, Jia-Min Yao, Fei-Yu Liu, Hong-Bo Liu, Juan Hou
Rock and Soil Mechanics
The dynamic shear characteristics of the reinforcement–soil interface affect the stability and durability of reinforced soil–rock mixture subgrades. A series of static and dynamic direct shear tests was conducted on the soil–rock mixture–geotextile interface using a large dynamic direct shear apparatus under different rock contents (0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%). The effects of normal stress amplitude (10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 kPa) and normal loading frequency (0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 Hz) on the shear response of the interface were analyzed. The test results indicate that the shear strength of the upper and lower boundaries of the interface first …

Dynamic Response And Characteristics Of Tapered Rigid Core Composite Cement- Soil Piles Under Cyclic Loading, Jie He, Duan-Wei Guo, De-Xin Song, Meng-Xin Liu, Lei Zhang, Qi-Feng Wen
Rock and Soil Mechanics
Tapered rigid core composite cement-soil pile is an emerging type of composite pile. In order to investigate its bearing behavior in engineering applications such as highways and railways under long-term cyclic loading, model tests were conducted on four composite piles with different pile core wedge angles, static loading ratios and cyclic loading ratios. The ultimate bearing capacity under static loading as well as the cumulative settlement, pile axial force distribution, tip resistance and side friction resistance were evaluated. The results indicated that the bearing capacity of tapered inner core composite piles under static loading was better than that of constant …

Experimental Study On The Permeability Characteristics Of Laminated Shale Under Cyclic Loading, Chuang Zhang, Song Ren, Fei Wu, Jie Liu, Xu-Hui Zhou
Rock and Soil Mechanics
It is of great significance for the safe construction of shale gas tunnels to deeply understand the evolution law of permeability of laminated shale with macro fractures under cyclic disturbance. The permeability evolution of shale specimens containing axial beddings and axial macro fractures under cyclic axial stress and cyclic confining pressure was experimentally studied using the GCTS rock mechanics testing system. The results show that the permeability of shale specimens containing axial beddings did not change significantly during the loading and unloading of axial stress, but it decreased in a negatively exponential form with the increasing confining pressure and increased …

Bearing Behavior And Accumulated Rotation Of Modified Suction Caisson (Msc) In Saturated Sand Under Cyclic Loading, Da-Yong Li, Jing-Rui Zhang, Yu-Kun Zhang, Yu-Feng Gao, Jun-Wei Liu
Rock and Soil Mechanics
Modified suction caisson is a new type of suction foundation for offshore wind power engineering. Model tests were carried out to investigate the variation of cumulative rotation angle and its influencing factors of the regular suction caisson (RSC) and modified suction caisson (MSC) under horizontal cyclic loading. The cyclic loading mode includes one-way cyclic loading and variable-amplitude cyclic loading. The experimental results showed that the cumulative rotation angle of the RSC and MSC under horizontal cyclic loading mainly occurs within the first 200 loading cycles. The cumulative rotation angle was found to increase with the increase of cyclic loading amplitude …

Quantitative Research On Morphological Characteristics Of Hysteretic Curves Of Remolded Weak Expansive Soil Under Cyclic Loading, Xin-Shan Zhuang, Han-Wen Zhao, Jun-Xiang Wang, Yong-Jie Huang, Zhi Hu
Rock and Soil Mechanics
A series of cyclic triaxial tests is conducted by GDS apparatus to investigate the effects of confining pressure, loading frequency, consolidation stress ratio on the hysteretic curves of the remolded weak expansive soil under multi-step loadings and single-step loadings respectively. Morphological characteristics of hysteretic curves are quantitatively described by three parameters, namely, the area S of the hysteretic curve, the slope of curve k, center offset distance d of adjacent hysteretic curves, and the degree of closure εp. The results show that the S, d and εp of the hysteretic curve of weak expansive soils increase nonlinearly with the increase …
