The cobalt oxide(Co3O4) nanoparticles were loaded on microporous Ti membrane to prepare Co3O4/Ti electrocatalytic membrane electrode by dip-coating method. The microstructures and electrochemical properties of Co3O4/Ti electrocatalytic membrane were investigated. The Co3O4/Ti electrocatalytic membrane reactor (ECMR) assembled by using the Co3O4/Ti electrocatalytic membrane as an anode was adopted for catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol to produce benzaldehyde and benzoic acid.The effects of different operation parameters on benzyl alcohol conversion, and selectivity to benzaldehyde and benzoic acid of ECMR were studied. …

A platinum electrode decorated with the ordered Nd-Fe-MoO42- cyano-bridged mixed coordination polymer was successfully prepared by electrodeposition in virtue of the lyotropic liquid crystal soft template methods, and electrocatalytic oxidation behavior of glycerol was investigated on the chemically modified electrode by cyclic voltammetry. The influences of experimental factors such as the concentrations of H+ and SO42- in electrolytes, glycerol concentration and scan rate on the electrocatalytic activity of glycerol at the modified electrode were also studied. Three types of electrodes, namely, Ti/PbO2, F-doped PbO2 (Ti/PbO2-F) and nano-Co3O4-doped PbO2 (Ti/PbO2+Nano-Co3O4) electrodes, were prepared by electro-deposition method on the Ti substrate with the interlayer of SnO2-Sb2O5. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to study the compositions, structures and film morphologies of the electrodes. Using ionic liquid [EMI]BF4 as the electrolyte,the electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose on carbon nanotubes/nanocrystlline TiO2 film loaded on Pt (CNT/nanoTiO2-Pt) complex film electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The results found that the CNT/nanoTiO2-Pt complex electrode had high catalytic activity to the electrochemical oxidation of glucose in ionic liquids and the oxidation potential was -0.46 V. The best effect of glucose oxidation was obtained with the volume ratio of ionic liquid to water being 3∶1. The process of electrodic reaction process was concentration polarization controlled.

A gold nano-particles modified glassy carbon electrode(GNP/GCE) was prepared by the"seed-mediated gold nano-particles growth method".Field emission scanning electron microscopy,ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis) spectroscopy analysis and electroalaylsis were employed to study the morphology and electrochemical performances.The resulting electrode showed excellent electro-catalytic activity toward the oxidation of salicylic acid and the response sensitivity was 1.8 fold than that obtained on GCE.Good linear relationship was obtained between response current and salicylic acid concentration in the range of 5.0 × 10-7 ~8.0 × 10-5 mol/L,which could be used in the detection of trace salicylic acid.

Electrocatalytic oxidation of methanol at the nano Ni-B amorphous alloy powder-microelectrode in alkaline media was studied by using cyclic voltammetry.Compared to the highly preferred orientation(220) nickel electrode,The onset potential of methanol electrooxidation at the nano Ni-B microelectrode is negatively shifted about 0.04V,and the current density is increased approximately by 2 orders of magnitude.Thus,the nano Ni-B microelectrode has very strong electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of methanol.The kinetic parameters were determined with the steady polarization curves.The results show that the rate constants for both the oxidation of Ni(Ⅱ) to Ni(Ⅲ) and the reduction of Ni(Ⅲ) to Ni(Ⅱ) at the nano Ni-B …

The catalytic splitting decomposition of carbon nanotubes isprocessed by dispersing with dilute nitric acid and thermal oxidation. Then well-proportionedphenolic resin is mixed in the carbon nanotubes. Then, the carbon nanotubesare made into electrodes by hot-press molding after the process of milling with high speed. The surface of the carbon nanotubes electrodes is analyzed by SEM. Active red X-3B simulated waster water is disposed by carbon nanotubes catalyticelectrode (anode) and stainless steel(cathode). The electrocatalytic oxidation behavior of some C 2 compounds(alcohols, aldehydes and carboxylic acids) on a Pt/Sb ad electrode prepared in situ or ex situ UPD was investigated using pontential sweep and rotating disc electrode methods. It is confirmed that Pt/Sb ad electrode show the most electrocatalytical active to the oxidation of aldehyde functional group and only a little activity to the oxidation of hydroxyl group, but no activity for the oxidation of carboxyl group. Anode catalysts of methanol oxidation for direct methanol fuel cell, pt/C andPtRu/C,were prepared by chemical reduction in this work.The results indicated that the PtRu/Cshowed higher electrocatalytic activity than that of Pt/C. It was explained by XRD and XPS analysesthat the existence of Ru enhanced the catalytic activity for electrochemical oxidation of methanol.

The electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of formaldehyde and formic acid ona Sb-modified platinum (Pt/Sb_(ad))was investigated.Results showed that the Pt/Sb_(ad) electrode waselectrocatalytically more active than a Pt electrode in the anodic oxidation of formaldehyde and formicacid.In the case of formaldehyde,an oxidation peak appeared at a potential of ca.0.7V.During theoxidation of formic acid,a 4-fold increase in the 1st peak current was observed.The Sb-modifiedplatinum electrode was found to be most electrocatalytically active at a coverage of 0.75±0.05.Theelectrocatalytic activity of the Pt/Sb_(ad) electrode can be best explained in terms of the geometrical effect,which may lead to the inhibition of the formation of the …
