Development Of Visualization Tools For 4d Ct Datasets, Burak Erem, David Kaeli, Dana Brooks, George Chen Apr 2012

Development Of Visualization Tools For 4d Ct Datasets, Burak Erem, David Kaeli, Dana Brooks, George Chen

David Kaeli

The objective of this poster is to develop a set of tools to effectively visualize, measure, and annotate 4D (3D + time) Computed Tomography (CT) images of radiation oncology patients for both research and clinical applications. Currently, radiotherapy treatment planning utilizes a 2D perspective of 4D data, thereby reducing the amount of information visually available. This information, such as the shape, movement and location of a tumor is critical in treatment planning. These tools are designed to both improve a user's perspective and analysis of tumor shape, motion, and location during respiration. Furthermore, measurement and annotation tools are designed to …

Reconstructing Oxygen Consumption And Blood Flow In Diffuse Optical Tomographic Breast Imaging Under Mammographic Compression, D. Ntuba, S. Carp, G. Boverman, E. Miller, D. Boas, D. Brooks

Dana Brooks

Introduction: Dual-modality imaging with X-ray mammography, Takes advantage of the strengths of each technique to improve clinical diagnostic capabilities, X-ray has high spatial resolution and provides superior structural information, But, sensitivity of mammography is about 86% [1], X-ray does not relate degree of malignancy and is ionizing, Whereas blood volume, oxygen saturation, water and lipid distributions could specify degree of malignancy of tumor, Enhances ability to use x-ray measurements as a prior for DOT. Multi-Spectral Reflectance Confocal Microscopy On Skin, Tianchen Shi, Charles Dimarzio Apr 2012

Multi-Spectral Reflectance Confocal Microscopy On Skin, Tianchen Shi, Charles Dimarzio

Charles A. DiMarzio

Reflectance confocal microscopy is a powerful in-vivo modality for imaging superficial layers of biological tissue, especially for human skin. Three dimensional imaging capability enables confocal microscopy to resolve structures of upper skin layer cells. However, sub-celluar structure and corresponding functional organelles play more important parts in skin diseases diagnosis and monitoring. We present a new multi-spectral reflectance confocal microscopy to achieve sub-celluar functional imaging in skin by utilizing our unique Keck multi-modality microscope. Spectral information and a modified Mie scattering model are incorporated to identify distribution of melanin and mitochondria in cells. Ex-vivo and phantom experimental results are presented. Further …
