Cutting Board Business Model, Austin W. Dasis
Cutting Board Business Model, Austin W. Dasis
Construction Management
This paper covers a business model and investment proposal for a cutting board business. The cutting board industry is a lucrative sector where there is room to grow as a business while being profitable. There are alot of factors that go into starting a business and making it successful. The student has put this together to be able to give it to a potential investor to demonstrate what he has done and what he plans on doing upon an investment. The student enjoys woodworking and wants to be able to start his own business but has minimal knowledge of what …

Spare Parts On Demand Using Additive Manufacturing : A Simulation Model For Cost Evaluation., Stefan Jedeck
Spare Parts On Demand Using Additive Manufacturing : A Simulation Model For Cost Evaluation., Stefan Jedeck
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Little is known about the impact of additive manufacturing in the spare part supply chain. A few studies are available, but they focus on specific parts and their applications only. A general model, which can be adapted to different applications, is nonexistent. This dissertation proposes a decision making framework that enables an interested practitioner/manager to decide whether using additive manufacturing to make spare parts on demand is economical when compared to conventional warehousing strategy. The framework consists of two major components: a general discrete event simulation model and a process of designing a wide range of simulation scenarios. The goal …
Methane Production By A Packed-Bed Anaerobic Digester Fed Dairy Barn Flush Water, Sean Richard Thomson
Methane Production By A Packed-Bed Anaerobic Digester Fed Dairy Barn Flush Water, Sean Richard Thomson
Master's Theses
Packed-bed digesters are an alternative to covered lagoon digesters for methane production and anaerobic treatment of dilute wastewaters such as dairy barn flush water. The physical media of packed-beds retain biofilms, often allowing increased treatment rates. Previous studies have evaluated several types of media for digestion of dilute wastewaters, but cost and media fouling have setback commercial development. A major operational cost has been effluent recirculation pumping.
In the present effort, a novel approach to anaerobic digestion of flush dairy water was developed at pilot-scale: broken walnut shells were used as a low-cost packed-bed medium and effluent recirculation was replaced …
Construction Cost Models, Barry Dikeman
Construction Cost Models, Barry Dikeman
Economics and Finance
The following are a series of cost estimate models similar in format to a typical engineer’s estimate that were developed in support of our financial impact assessment report for LD 1725. The models us current material costs, labor costs, and equipment costs for the region to provide a comparative cost analysis of seven culvert replacement scenarios. The models provide information about what the cost impact of LD 1725 would be for typical culvert replacements in Maine. However, due to the inherent restrictions of the cost modeling framework we were not able to include the abundance of variables that would be …
Application Of Uml For Modeling Urban Traffic System Using Producer Consumer Theory To Generate Process Algebra Model, Manuj Darbari, Sanjay Medhavi, Abhay Kumar Srivastava
Application Of Uml For Modeling Urban Traffic System Using Producer Consumer Theory To Generate Process Algebra Model, Manuj Darbari, Sanjay Medhavi, Abhay Kumar Srivastava
Journal of International Technology and Information Management
UML is widely used as an industry standard for modeling any system. In this paper will be dealing with simple UML diagrams and show that low it can be transformed into process algebra models specially designated to model urban traffic systems. The model capture functionality at the level of mesoscopic as well as microscopic level and it is merged with process algebra’s producer consumer theory. The model is also formalized using Process algebra equations. This paper focuses on complex situational activity diagrams enhancing the expressivity by refining at the abstraction levels. Performance requirement is annotated by the UML profile for …
Model State Land Use Legislation For New England, New England Environmental Finance Center, Muskie School Of Public Service
Model State Land Use Legislation For New England, New England Environmental Finance Center, Muskie School Of Public Service
Legislation
Sprawl is neither the ordained nor the inevitable outcome upon the New England landscape. A coordinated response to sprawl by the public and private sectors is possible, and could dramatically improve land use patterns and reduce the cost of local government. For the New England states, such a response would include, among other elements, legislation to eliminate existing gaps in the land use laws of each state – gaps that presently encourage or sanction sprawling development. It would also include incentives for municipalities to think beyond their borders and to act with greater efficiency and effect. It is the purpose …
