The energy crisis and shortage of fuel emanating from total dependence on mineral oil with resultant socioeconomic problems demand the need to explore the use of renewable energy as alternative. This study evaluates the physical properties of the castor (Ricirus communis) oil. A quantity of 35 kg dried base decorticated seeds of castor was locally obtained, volume of 5 litres of castor oil was extracted from the seeds using existing hydraulic press machine, while its physical properties was determined through laboratory analytical procedure of American Society for Testing and Materials analytical standard 960-52 (ASTM,D960-52). The Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) is considered to be one of the most important measuring devices in the future of power system. The difference comes from its unique ability to provide synchronized phasor measurements of voltages and currents from widely dispersed locations in an electric power grid called synchrophasor technology .In SCADA system, the measured quantities remain constant during the data gathering process. Hence the dynamic characteristics of the power system cannot be estimated. Synchrophasor technology is used to overcome this drawback. AutoCAD, the popular software for Architectural and Engineering design is increasingly used today to achieve and speed and accuracy in work execution. Complex and repetitive drawings are automated through AutoCAD programming to optimise the design process. In this research, AutoLISP (AutoCad language), is used to programme AutoCAD for automated reinforced concrete structural detailing. Reinforced concrete Open-well staircase is used as a case study.
