3rd Party Ip Encryption From Netlist To Bitstream For Xilinx 7-Series Fpgas, Daniel Hutchings

Theses and Dissertations

IP vendors need to keep the internal designs of their IP secret from the IP user for security or commercial reasons. The CAD tools provided by FPGA vendors have some built-in functionality to encrypt the IP. However, the IP is consequently decrypted by the CAD tools in order to run the IP through the design flow. An IP user can use APIs provided by the CAD tools to recreate the IP in an unencrypted state. An IP user could also easily learn the internals of a protected IP with the advent of new open-source bitstream to netlist tools. The user …

Tokamak 3d Heat Load Investigations Using An Integrated Simulation Framework, Thomas Looby May 2022

Tokamak 3d Heat Load Investigations Using An Integrated Simulation Framework, Thomas Looby

Doctoral Dissertations

Reactor class nuclear fusion tokamaks will be inherently complex. Thousands of interconnected systems that span orders of magnitude in physical scale must operate cohesively for the machine to function. Because these reactor class tokamaks are all in an early design stage, it is difficult to quantify exactly how each subsystem will act within the context of the greater systems. Therefore, to predict the engineering parameters necessary to design the machine, simulation frameworks that can model individual systems as well as the interfaced systems are necessary. This dissertation outlines a novel framework developed to couple otherwise disparate computational domains together into …

Machine Learning Approaches For Early Prediction Of Hypertension., Heba Elsayed Mohamed Kandil May 2022

Machine Learning Approaches For Early Prediction Of Hypertension., Heba Elsayed Mohamed Kandil

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Hypertension afflicts one in every three adults and is a leading cause of mortality in 516, 955 patients in USA. The chronic elevation of cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) changes the cerebrovasculature of the brain and disrupts its vasoregulation mechanisms. Reported correlations between changes in smaller cerebrovascular vessels and hypertension may be used to diagnose hypertension in its early stages, 10-15 years before the appearance of symptoms such as cognitive impairment and memory loss. Specifically, recent studies hypothesized that changes in the cerebrovasculature and CPP precede the systemic elevation of blood pressure. Currently, sphygmomanometers are used to measure repeated brachial artery …

Synthetic Aperture Ladar Automatic Target Recognizer Design And Performance Prediction Via Geometric Properties Of Targets, Jacob W. Ross

Browse all Theses and Dissertations

Synthetic Aperture LADAR (SAL) has several phenomenology differences from Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR) making it a promising candidate for automatic target recognition (ATR) purposes. The diffuse nature of SAL results in more pixels on target. Optical wavelengths offers centimeter class resolution with an aperture baseline that is 10,000 times smaller than an SAR baseline. While diffuse scattering and optical wavelengths have several advantages, there are also a number of challenges. The diffuse nature of SAL leads to a more pronounced speckle effect than in the SAR case. Optical wavelengths are more susceptible to atmospheric noise, leading to distortions in formed …

A Modified Relay-Race Algorithm For Floorplanning In Pcb And Ic Design, Mert Vatansever, İsmai̇l Fai̇k Başkaya

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Floorplanning is a fundamental design step in the physical design of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and integrated circuits (ICs), as it handles the complexity of layout design. From a computational point of view, the floorplanning problem is an NP hard problem, and the size of the search space grows exponentially with increasing numbers of modules. Thus, the algorithm used is an essential factor for speed and quality of the floorplanning process. Although polynomial-time floorplanning algorithms can be implemented when solution space is limited to slicing floorplans, optimal solutions often exist only in the nonslicing floorplan search space. Various stochastic algorithms …

An Efficient Reliability Simulation Tool For Lifetime-Aware Analog Circuit Synthesis, Engi̇n Afacan Jan 2020

An Efficient Reliability Simulation Tool For Lifetime-Aware Analog Circuit Synthesis, Engi̇n Afacan

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Time-dependent degradation (aging) has become more severe in modern CMOS technologies. Therefore, it is highly critical to capture the variation effects and design reliable circuits against aging. Simulation of time-dependent variations is quite complicated since the degradation is a function of time, where the step count of simulation directly affects the accuracy and the efficiency of the analysis. Commercial simulator tools use a constant step count during reliability simulations, in which choosing a large step count degrades the efficiency whereas keeping it small may result in accuracy problems. To overcome this bottleneck, a couple of different approaches have been proposed …
