Effectiveness Of Building Information Modeling In Existing Structure Construction Compared To New Structure Construction, Anthony Aaron Bellanti Jun 2020

Effectiveness Of Building Information Modeling In Existing Structure Construction Compared To New Structure Construction, Anthony Aaron Bellanti

Construction Management

Over the last decade Building Information Modeling has become a crucial aspect of the construction project for larger construction firms in the United States. BIM has many different facets and can be used to effectively manage construction projects in various ways. Modeling a structure in a virtual setting in preconstruction allows for adequate preparedness for the construction process and has been shown to be effective, on a broad scale, to reduce cost, compress schedules, and allow for a more fluid construction process overall. The goal of this paper is to look more closely at BIM and its effectiveness on existing …

CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

The description of a pilot plant and results of a research of intensity of a heat mass transfer are provided and hy-draulic resistance at various initial concentration of the absorbed gas and relations of an expense of the liquid absorber to a consumption of gas mixture. It is established that use of water as the absorber of carbon dioxide doesn't provide necessary effectiveness of process. At absorption of carbon dioxide from an air with an aqueous solution of monoethanol amine in the hollow vortex device, with increase in concentration of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in steam-and-gas mixture on an entrance to …

Evaluating Students Information System Success Using Delone And Mclean’S Model: Student’S Perspective, Majaliwa Mkinga, Herman Mandari Jan 2020

Evaluating Students Information System Success Using Delone And Mclean’S Model: Student’S Perspective, Majaliwa Mkinga, Herman Mandari

Journal of International Technology and Information Management

System success is considered to be an important element in accomplishing the goals of the organization; therefore evaluation of system success needs to be done in order to ensure that investment in Information System is successful. Most of Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs) in Tanzania have adopted the use of IS in providing service to their customers. Nevertheless, there is less evidence that system success evaluation has been done in order to identify the desired characteristics which could make IS more effective. Due to that, this study evaluates the effectiveness of Student Information System (SIS) used at the Institute of Finance …

Systemic Methodology For Cyber Offense And Defense, C. Ariel Pinto, Matthew Zurasky Jan 2020

Systemic Methodology For Cyber Offense And Defense, C. Ariel Pinto, Matthew Zurasky

Engineering Management & Systems Engineering Faculty Publications

This paper describes a systemic method towards standardization of a cyber weapon effectiveness and effectiveness prediction process to promote consistency and improve cyber weapon system evaluation accuracy – for both offensive and defensive postures. The approach included theoretical examination of existing effectiveness prediction processes for kinetic and directed energy weapons, complemented with technical and social aspects of cyber realm. The examination highlighted several paradigm-shifts needed to transition from purely kinetic-based processes and transition into the realm of combined kinetic and cyber weapons. Components of the new method for cyber weapons are cyber payload assessment, effects identification, and target assessment. The …
