Design And Modeling Of A Pvdf-Trfe Flexible Wind Energy Harvester, Berkay Kullukçu, Levent Beker
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This study presents the simulation, experimentation, and design considerations of a Poly(vinylidene fluoride co-trifluoroethylene)/ Polyethylene Terephthalate (PVDF-TrFe / PET), laser-cut, flexible piezoelectric energy harvester. It is possible to obtain energy from the environment around autonomous sensor systems, which can then be used to power various equipment. This article investigates the actuation means of ambient vibration, which is a good candidate for using piezoelectric energy harvester (PEH) devices. The output voltage characteristics were analyzed in a wind test apparatus. Finite element modeling (FEM) was done for von Mises stress and modal analysis. Resonance frequency sweeps, quality factors, and damping ratios of …

High-Speed Switched Reluctance Machine: Natural Frequency Calculation And Acoustic Noise Prediction, Yusuf Yaşa, Yilmaz Sözer, Muhammet Gari̇p
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
In this study, an analytical model is proposed for natural frequency calculation and acoustic noise prediction for high speed switched reluctance machines. The developed natural frequency model results are compared with the mechanical finite element analysis results in terms of 6 different mode shapes that cause the majority of the acoustic noise in switched reluctance machines. The results show that the analytical results are consistent with the numerical method results with minimum 90% matching. Based on the natural frequency calculation model, a new acoustic noise prediction method is developed that only needs a radial force waveform as an input emerging …

Active Vibration Control Of Seismic Excited Structural System Using Lmi-Based Mixed H_2/H_{\Infty} State Feedback Controller, Hakan Yazici, Rahmi̇ Güçlü
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This paper is concerned with the active vibration control of a four-degree-of-freedom structure, which is effected by earthquake. To obtain desired time history and frequency responses for solution of active vibration control problem, Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) based state-feedback mixed H_2/H_{\infty} controller is designed in this study. The time history of ground motion of the Kobe earthquake in 1995, which is a disturbance input, is applied to modeled structure. At the end of the study, the time history of the storey displacements, velocities and frequency responses of both controlled and uncontrolled cases are presented and results are discussed. Performance of …
