Reactive Power Sharing And Voltage Restoration In Islanded Ac Microgrids, Khurram Hashmi, Rizwan Ali, Muhammad Hanan, Waseem Aslam, Abubakar Siddique, Muhammad Mansoor Khan

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Microgrids (MG) are a new and innovative concept in modern distribution networks. Several challenges are associated with the operation and control of MG networks. Active and reactive power sharing among energy resources interfaced through power electronic conversion stages is a major challenge. Although active power sharing can be achieved under varying scenarios, sharing of reactive power between distributed generation units is difficult to achieve. This paper presents a novel and innovative control scheme to ensure sharing of reactive power between Distributed generation units within an autonomous, islanded AC microgrid. A framework composed of novel multiagent moving average estimators is proposed …

Design And Application Of Spwm Based 21-Level Hybrid Inverter For Induction Motor Drive, Sheikh Tanzim Meraj, Kamrul Hasan, Ammar Masaoud Jan 2020

Design And Application Of Spwm Based 21-Level Hybrid Inverter For Induction Motor Drive, Sheikh Tanzim Meraj, Kamrul Hasan, Ammar Masaoud

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

Thispaperpresentstheapplicationofanewlydeveloped21-levelhybridmultilevelinverter. Ahighfrequency modulation technique known as sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) is applied to the hybrid inverter. This modulation methodology operates the switching sequences of the multilevel inverter to produce the desired 21-level output voltage. To validate the proper application of this inverter, it is further utilized to maintain the speed of a single phase induction motor. The velocity control of the motor is established on the principle of V/f control technique. The speed control strategy along with the compatibility of the SPWM modulation technique were verified by means of simulation and experimental results.

Pure Fuzzy Hall Effect Sensors For Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, İbrahi̇m Alişkan, Rüstem Yilmazel

Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences

An investigation about Hall effect sensors' efficiency is confirmed in permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive systems. A fuzzy control algorithm is used as an artificial intelligence controller. Large scale and low slopes are used for creating membership functions and a sensitive controller is obtained. Speed is wanted to be taken under control and a minimum error value is aimed. PMSM drive systems are established using MATLAB-Simulink/SimPower. Simulations are realized with real-time parameters in discrete mode. A fuzzy logic controller is designed by using the MATLAB/Fuzzy Logic Toolbox. A normalization technique and high resolution output of the fuzzy logic controller …
