INDOT Standard Specifications Section 918, Geosynthetics, has been revised and updated, broadening the tools available to designers and contractors challenged with variable soil types and site conditions. The revision effort included harmonizing Section 200, 600, and 900 language relative to the design and use of geosynthetics. Section 918 broadly pertains to geosynthetics, which includes geotextiles, geogrids, geocells, geomembranes, and geocomposites. This session includes a practical discussion about specific changes to geotextile specifications and the addition of geotextile types.

This presentation discusses a 2012 case study using QC/QA Earthwork Specifications and Intelligent Compaction Rollers for soils.

INDOT Contract IR-30111 in Greenfield District on US 31/ US 35 at Kokomo used this process in 2012 and continuing into 2013 for the control and acceptance of approximately 1 million cubic yards of earthwork.
