Emerging microgrids need more investigations on different technical aspects of using Distributed Generations (DGs). Because of the small scale of DGs and their moment of inertia, transient stability in microgrids is very important. This paper discusses the effect of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) power plants on transient stability of a microgrid. In order to get a more accurate response in transient operation, accurate DFIG and SOFC dynamic models are implemented.
