Impact Of Decision Criteria On Federal Aviation Administration Certification Of Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft, Michael S. Low Mar 2012

Impact Of Decision Criteria On Federal Aviation Administration Certification Of Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft, Michael S. Low

Theses and Dissertations

The decision regarding whether to maintain Federal Aviation Administration certification of military commercial derivative aircraft (MCDA) can be extremely difficult due to the subjective nature of some of the associated costs and benefits. The purpose of this research is to help decision makers understand the level of impact those costs and benefits have on their decision, and how that impact may change over the life cycle of the MCDA fleet. Data regarding the various criteria involved in such decisions were collected from subject matter experts using the Delphi technique. This information was then incorporated into a decision support tool that …

Maintenance Resources Evaluation Technique, Jorge Guarnieri Mar 1999

Maintenance Resources Evaluation Technique, Jorge Guarnieri

Theses and Dissertations

The Argentine Air Force (AAF) has undertaken the task of reviewing its logistics doctrine with the aim of supporting its mission on the basis of better-designed resource structures. The adequate sizing of logistics support is essential to obtain the desired military capability, while optimizing resource use. A decision support tool tailored to the AAF environment is needed to size that logistics support. This research developed a mathematical logistics model to evaluate the mean number of aircraft that can be restored in a given time interval between consecutive sorties, for a given maintenance resources mix and base physical geometry. This maintenance …

A Decision Support System For Joint Force Air Component Commander (Jfacc) Combat Planning, Donald W. Hinton Mar 1997

A Decision Support System For Joint Force Air Component Commander (Jfacc) Combat Planning, Donald W. Hinton

Theses and Dissertations

This system allows assessment of the Master Air Attack Plan (MAAP) during construction and at completion. The system functions around a relational database management system providing a decision support tool for the Guidance, Apportionment, & Targeting (GAT) cell of Central Command's JFACC Combat Plans. A Microsoft Access application is programmed to provide PC-based, real time evaluation of air campaign goals and constraints. The decision support system was validated in February 1997 by the CENTAF combat plans staff at Blue Flag 97-1. The software and user's manual are maintained at HQ ACC/XP-Studies and Analysis Squadron.

Assessing User Requirements For An Automated System To Support Programmed Depot Maintenance Through Use Of A Rapid Prototype In A Group Support System Environment, Floyd A. Gwartney Sep 1996

Assessing User Requirements For An Automated System To Support Programmed Depot Maintenance Through Use Of A Rapid Prototype In A Group Support System Environment, Floyd A. Gwartney

Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this thesis was to assess user requirements for an automated information system to support programmed depot maintenance (PDM). To accomplish this, the Integrated Technical Information for the Air Logistics Centers (ITI-ALC) program's rapid prototype was evaluated. The evaluation focused on users' perception of how well the prototype met system and human computer interface requirements for PDM technicians and managers. A group support system (GSS) was used as an analysis tool to evaluate the prototype and collect evaluation data. Using the prototype as a requirements baseline for the ITI-ALC system, this thesis had three objectives: to perform an …
