The purpose of this project was to develop a model Marketing Education/Store Management program for Klahowya Secondary School. The model program was designed for implementation with second year (grades 11-12) marketing education students at Klahowya Secondary School, Central Kitsap School District, Silverdale, Washington. To accomplish this purpose a review of literature was conducted. Additionally, related information and materials from selected sources were obtained and analyzed, including a survey that was sent to marketing education teachers in the State of Washington.

A guide for implementing the foundation teaching academy course Careers in Education was developed and submitted for approval at Auburn High School. The Careers in Education Resource Guide was the accumulation of information to assist Family and Consumer Science teachers with the implementation of the first career academy offered at Auburn High School. Included in the Careers in Education Resource Guide was the alignment of curriculum components with the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction Careers in Education frameworks. The School-to-Work Opportunities Act was designed to improve student learning, in-school retention, and transition to the workplace by improving the quality and relevance of education for all students. School-to-work uses experiences that integrate school-based and work-based learning and improve students' knowledge of and access to career opportunities. The purpose of this project was to design and develop resources for school-wide writing at the secondary level that focuses on the transition from school to work. To accomplish this purpose, current research and literature on performance-based assessment, linking writing assessment with instruction, writing across the curriculum, and the School-to-Work movement were reviewed. A community based service delivery plan was developed to meet the individual transition needs of 18-21 year old students with mild disabilities. The transition service was designed to ease the movement of students into post-secondary community life by providing prepatory experiences and community linkages. Students may receive services in the areas of recreation and leisure, vocational, and independent living activities depending on individual need.

The purpose of this project was to develop an applied learning health occupations program model that encompassed interagency collaboration and partnership. The formal partnership in this project was established with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and the Bethel School District. Initially the model was designed for implementation in the Bethel School District and eventually other school districts in the State of Washington. To accomplish this purpose, a review of current literature regarding the future workforce, applied learning and partnerships between schools, business and the community was conducted and related materials from inservice programs and conferences was reviewed and assessed.

This study compares and evaluates the ideas and opinions of practitioners with the ideas and opinions of educational theorists. Information from the practitioners was gathered by questionnaire. Information from the theorists was gathered by a search of the related literature. The findings, showing the relationship or textbooks to the development of course content in the teaching of small gas engines, are presented and evaluated. A small gas engines textbook outline based on information gained from this study is also presented.

The Longview school system has not yet adopted a guide for this particular area. This guide is intended to provide the writer with a broader knowledge of background information, enabling him to make the course more interesting and useful to the students. By using this guide the writer will be able to direct his classes toward the objectives of industrial arts and general education.
